Controller & Keyboard

Kinda long time player, but not big on other mmo's.
I'm consistently switching between using a mouse and keyboard or controller, sometimes all 3.
Can I get any suggestions on setting up any keybinds, macros (beginner to end game), just anything usful to help with better control and functionality?
Any advice would be helpful, thankyou!

I cannot give you keyboard/mouse suggestions, but i can direct you to a gamepad guide.

Personally I have no clue how people play on keyboard with so many actions needed.

This guide shows you how to easily control your actions with gamepad.

In the guide, I say, that I am not sure if this is possible with PS4 or PS3, I have personally set this up with PS4, and PS3 is getting canceled so it doesnt even matter if you can set it up that way on PS3 or not.

To go further, I place all combos as "Square, Triangle Circle" and other attacks as "Cross" or (X) and then the Right directional button.
Then I have buffs as Up Down Left and if no attack is needed, and i want a buff there, sometimes Right.

This makes playing all jobs very easy, and simple to remember where actions are. Then of course the "hidden hot bar" with the "fake cross hot bar" as R1+Square. I feel this will become even much more useful when they adjust the actions for battle classes moving forward. It frees up a significant amount of space, and keeps the UI clean since the Cross hot bar uses a system that constantly hides actions you dont need in any given 1-2 second time frame.

Thanks this helps alot, I'm on ps4, and last time I played you couldn't expand the cross bar which made it difficult when trying to cycle through the sets. No I just have to figure out (ps4s) custom hotbar interactions

In my experience I personally use a controller for playing in general lets me access my abilities faster and chain combos easier. I do have a keyboard hooked up for typing and opening menus quicker. I have all buffs and extra abilities on my second bar then all my damage and main abilities on my first bar.

I do not use the "expanded cross hotbar."

I use the one introduced in 2.0. Works great.

There's now two additional bars available beyond the one currently set as your main bar. There's the Expanded Cross Hotbar (accessed with L2+R2 or R2+L2) and the W cross hotbar (accessed with a double tap of R2 or L2). So even more readily available slots than we had prior to patch 3.4 (when the W bar was added).

I play with mouse and keyboard. The only keybinds I've done is 'confirm' on F, thanks to Guild Wars 2, and then ctrl+r to toggle between running and walking. No macros either because they lag too much.
