New Weapon Design Choices for Bards

Before we supply bard with more instruments I think they should start by making bard more bard and less ranger. A few more songs, more songs you don't get penalized for using, ability to grand your tank song A and your healers song B (like they were able to in version 1) and so on.

With only 3 real songs (4 if you want to count swiftsong but since that are archer ability I don't) there is no need for more than 1 instrument, more varied bows with less instrumental looks would be far better imo.

Bard as it is now is nothing more than a ranger who hums.

I doubt they'll add more songs :/
By essence Bard was supposed to be a buffer but with AST.....he became, like you said, a ranger. Excepct for a song that would lesser physical resistance (like the magic we have) I can't think of buff that would not impact AST's gameplay considering he is now the buffer :/

There's not much instrument that can be added to a bow. Harp is the more effective because it just need string, anything else would be to heavy to use as a bow.

As you can see, BRD do no use their bows as harp, even when you sing a song in combat, you put your bow aside and take a harp out of....out of where excaclty ? ^^"
Plus, beside the 50 relic, I've never seen a bow with a harp as part of it (and even here, you don't use that part but take a real harp xD)

but I get your point. Having a bow as weapon, then a harp in the shield slot would be neat, just like we could have 2 daggers for nin with the shield slot. This slot is far too unused and only serve the PLD cause. That would actually allow more secondary stat combinaison with the use of this useless slot.
