    Cross-Class - System = Is it Cancer?

    Cross- Class System at its core isn't a bad idea in my opinion. however the road in watch they took. is they could majorly improve on this. by downright revamping current Cross Class System into a new one?
    So Friends? Follow FF14 players what would be good Alterative or improvement to this. this mostly my opinion but please share yours.

    1. I think we need new passives. traits, traits that you can only get by leveling another class. these traits new traits or passives are nice to have

    Exp -"Below"
    GLD/PLD - you give this passive to PLD/WHM/DRK/WAR/MRD/Sch/Ast
    30 -your other jobs 3% Physical damage reduction to other tank jobs
    50 -your other jobs 6% Physical damage reduction to other tank jobs
    70 -your other jobs 10% Physical damage reduction to other tank jobs

    30 - Unlocks - Provoke
    50 - Unlocks - Convalescence
    70 - Unlocks - Awareness

    Melee DPS
    LNC/Dragoon - "Monk, Ninja.Mac/Brd/RDM
    30 - your other Jobs deal 2% more damage
    50 - you other Jobs 4% more damage
    70 - your other Jobs 8% more damage

    30 - Unlocks Life Surge
    50 - Unlocks Invigorate
    70 -Unlocks Blood for Blood

    -> additional abilities menu no longer have slots. meaning you can use them all at your disposal. however at the cost of increase in level and requirement.

    Each Job offers something else and passive to the other jobs. so your rewarded for having muiti-jobs. meaning in the end you have stronger proformance

    I believe they said they are doing away with it in 4.0 in favor of role based skills.

    In the meantime... please look forward to it?

    They are already re-doing the current cross class skills, I think about all that is really known about it right now is that they are removing the class system and replacing it with role specific skills that are more mandatory to each role. Like provoke for tanks and protect for healers and so on

    I don't find that interesting at all. What if I don't enjoy Lancer's playstyle? I don't want to be forced to play a different class/job to be optimal at mine.

    Why do we -need- Protect, anyway? It doesn't really add any value to the game. It's a buff you apply at the start of the dungeon, and you ignore it unless someone dies. They could rework it so that it's a spell that offers more engaging play for WHMs.

    From what I've understood, they're reallocating the cross class skills more based on role than class... So I'm guessing things like Stoneskin on PLD, Eye for an Eye on BLM, Virus on WHM and Physick on DPS will be gone...

    All in all, the only good thing I can see coming out of it all that I can think of is tanks finally getting access to Keen Flurry, but even then... Parry...

    Didn't they say parry is either getting a total rework by 4.0 or potentially getting removed? It would be interesting to see what a lot of the moves that rely on it become.

    Cross class system doesn't even help Dragoon out. Everyone can take skills from Lancer but Dragoon can't even get Raging Strikes! WTF is that anyway? Also Astrologian can't even cross class Arcanist abilities to get Eye for an Eye or Virus >.>.

    I wish they would move the rework to arrive before Stormblood. My hype for Stormblood has petered out with the clown fiesta of the Garo event.

    We have our own Virus (Disable) which is just as good imo. Also Eye for an Eye not really needed imo, especially when you can just bole the tank if he really needs damage reduction. It seems like they were already thinking ahead when making AST. They gave them some role specific abilities that are similar to other healers but different in a way. I'm excited to see what they are gonna do for SB

    I'd rather see the cross-class system fleshed out rather than closed down, but that's only because I actually want some fair semblance of progressive player identity, realistic inter-connectivity, and customization.

    For instance, each class may come equipped with x number of core mechanical traits (rather than merely ability enhancements, added output percentiles, or added stats) and y number of trait slots which only slightly exceed that x number, and all but a few of which can be filled instead by traits from other classes. Want a speedy Pugilist with a Lancer's use of Momentum, or a Lancer with a Rogue's natural mobility? So be it.

    Protect is a buff that lowers the amount of dmg your party takes so yes it is a need unless you want to be healing more than you should.
