Need help finding a new pc please!

I saw a thread about graphics cards, I would like to get a new desktop. I have about $1,000 to spend and I'd like to try and get the most bang for my buck. Any suggestions would be welcome, I do not really have a pref on chipset or card types/brands.

see if you can get the recommended or above requirements, also make sure it's 64 bit system. As per Yoshi during the convention mentioned. They will trouble and tech shoot it and won't force you to upgrade, "but yeah....if you that will be a big help". With $1000 I would rather build one if your techs savvy or save an additional 1000.

Do you have parts on your current computer that you could reuse? Like an SSD and HDD storage setup going now or decent RAM. Even the case, assuming it's not a retail brand that's a unique size (like Dell's compact towers). All of these things will cut down on cost or allow you to spend a bit more on better quality parts.

As noted by ManuelBravo, do you have an OS you can reuse too? Ideally a 64bit version.

To see how it runs based on the results. Your system specs are pretty decent you may need to just play around with the connection speed and ram resources. If anything perhaps switch it to a 64 bit system. and max out the ram. yo can also try upgrading your internet try fast.com to test it. Another thing you can do is perhaps upgrade the Video card to something recommended in the benchmark web page.

AlienWare... Basically to an IT person that's just a code-name for 'overpriced, un-upgradable pile of silicon you'll need to replace in a year'.

Most of these specialty, "high performance" machines really aren't worth the money you dump into them initially when you start looking at the long term. Do yourself a favor, if you don't know how to assemble a computer or change parts, find somewhere to learn, be it videos or classes or a friend. Learning how to swap out parts and upgrade on you own will not only make your rig what you want it to be but keep it running better longer.

P.S. Also, for me, if I buy a new graphics card for myself, I sell the old one mildly used for a discount on the store price, helps reduce the cost of upgrades a bit.

$1000 is a bit rough if you have preference on CPU brand (Intel vs AMD). If you're okay with AMD processors, you'll be able to hit that mark a lot easier though.

Newegg has a combo deal going that's not bad at all: HERE Add on or adjust the cart as you think is needed, like if you need a DVD drive. You can even switch out the GTX 1070 (which is a very powerful card) for something cheaper, like the RX480. Shipping is terrible though if you don't qualify for free shipping from them. Amazon would probably be better in that case, if shipping is a problem, as they both tend to have the same parts at around the same prices. You can always buy extra fans, if needed. Edit: Just noticed it doesn't have an OS. If you don't have one you can reuse (like if you don't have the CD-Key), you're gonna have to add one on or buy from the Microsoft store online. A cheap Windows 10 Home should be fine for most people.

This is also assuming you're familiar with how to build a PC. It isn't difficult, but ideally you or someone else has at least some experience. There are guides and videos everywhere to figure it out with, if not.

Malzian's post pretty much hits the nail on the head. His retail link is absolutely another route to take if you're unfamiliar with building one and don't care to learn. I recommend learning with a cheaper card than my links GTX1070 though, if you do lol.

I play on desktop, but if i lower the resolution to this I guess it would be ok 1920x1080 is what my desktop is normally at

$868 with a GTX1070 included is actually a damned good deal considering that the card itself runs a little North of $400 on its own. Personally I'm running 2 GTX970s because I'm pushing 4K, but thinking of upgrading to a 1080 because SLI has been a major issue.

The only upsides of the system I posted versus this one is that the ASUS comes pre-aasembled with Win 10 installed, double the RAM and a 1TB drive. The SSD is nice to have, but I prefer to use those only as system drives and have standard HDDs for the games due to the size of the games as well as reducing the amount of writes to the SSD which prolongs their lifespan.

yeah upgrade to a 64 bit, and change your video card for now unless you really need to upgrade save money. Alienware is over priced. I would concentrate for now on Video card and having a 64bit system. wait for teh good deals then perhaps upgrade based on your budget just a thought. Or see below it's a nice deal but I would recommend tobe tech savvy or learn before building your own.
