I'm getting constant 90006 errors because packets keep dropping thanks to level3 being a total piece of shit. Can you guys invest in an actual tunneling software and bypass them already. Or negotiate something. It's getting absurd now.

Agreed, been lagging and being disconnected all day despite my internet being fine (being able to stream, play other online games, etc.) Can't hold a stable connection on either NA datacenter.

Sorry, but Square Enix don't control your route to their data centre, your Internet Service Provider does.
Likewise SE have nothing to negotiate with Level 3, they're not L3's customer, your ISP is.
The level3 in Montreal your having issues with is the same one I am having issues with causing disconnects as well:
ORMUCO-COMM
If you did not think they had any connection to Square-Enix, think again:
http://www.ormuco.com/
They blatantly brag about hosting FFXIV traffic and even show a FFXIV trailer video behind it.
Square CAN do something about this.
Yes XIV's servers are hosted with Ormuco, but Ormuco is not Level 3...
Level 3 does indeed connects to Ormuco to get to XIV's servers, but they're not the only way to get to Ormuco.
For example my own ISP routes me through GTT and I connect to Ormuco via them. No Level 3 involved. That's not because Square Enix had anything to do with it, my ISP (thankfully) doesn't route me through Level 3. It's as simple as that.
SE has a lot more clout when it comes to dealing with this than we do. They can exert pressure on their ISP to negotiate on their behalf.
Throwing up their hands and saying that it's not their fault half the continent can't play the game properly isn't a viable solution to the problem.
This is making me not want to buy Stormblood.
The only influence SE could have on an ISP would be to pay them money. SE has nothing to do with your ISP so they're not going to do anything just because SE asks them to. The ISP probably saves money by routing you through Level 3 so that's why they do it.
Do you realistically expect SE to pay off every ISP that routes through Level 3? And then you can bet if that started doing that then other ISPs would suddenly start using problem routes... do you want SE to "influence" them too? That would be a lot of (ongoing) money that personally I'd prefer they spent on the game itself.
To be honest "collectively" as customers you would prolly have more chances of getting your ISP to reroute you than SE ever could (without "bribing" them) Problem is there is probably not enough ff 14 players per ISP to really push a ISP to reroute for this one service, I mean i got lucky and ATT does ok with it now, but I did have issues with level 3 a few times too.
