I don't know if unused data is necessarily indicative of an effort to troll dataminers, is the thing. I think the presence of something like Samurai files says a lot about intent, especially considering when it appeared.

While I agree that unused data isn't always intentionally placed in the files to troll dataminers (though coming from WoW, Blizzard did have a tendency to troll dataminers, every now and then), I'd say datamined files should always be taken with a grain of salt.
