Loosen up a bit on deck composition rules?

Right now, I'm using a grand total of 0 four-star cards in my Triple Triad decks. With how the deck composition rules are now, there's no reason to use any of them when you have five-star cards for the single "rare card" slot you're allowed.

It's a damn shame, because there are a lot of four-star cards, and it would offer a great deal more flexibility in creating decks if they were allowed in a less restrictive manner. Primal themed decks would benefit a lot especially, since there are a lot of four-star Primal cards. (Odin, Ramuh, Leviathan, Shiva, Ravana, Bismarck, Sephirot)

What I have in mind is perhaps something like this:
    [1] 5* slot
    [1] 4* slot
    [3] 1-3* slot

At least that way four-star cards may finally have some use.

yeah that be to much to your benefit only let you use up to 3star cards x4 and then the one rare card frankly by now should be able to put x4 4star cards in our decks not that matter much with the random/swap rules anyway.

I'd rather they lift the restrictions entirely. As far as I'm concerned if you've taken the time and effort to get that many AA cards you should be able to use them, all of them. Or at the very least it's time to unlock four star cards.

can agree there I mean what the point gathering all these and yet still can't use 4star cards as the main cards with your 1 rare

Can't wait for 4.0 NPCs to all use Random. Punishing the player for collecting cards.

Only for them to remove it in 4.5

NPC's don't use the random rule anymore. This was in the 3.5 patch notes. They now use a different rule instead of Random.

Maybe they should limit the deck based on the total number of stars instead.

For example, if the total stars allowed is 17, then we can use:
    - 4 3-star cards and 1 5-star cards like right now, or
    - 3 3-star cards and 2 4-star cards, or
    - 3 5-star cards and 2 1-star cards, etc.

It would also be easier to incrementally increase the limit. Going from freely using 1 star cards to 2 star to 3 star, each represented huge leaps in our deck strength. And going to 4 star would also be a similar leap, rendering many of the npc trivial to beat. I know the OP is not suggesting this, but that rule feels needlessly complicated and still feel quite limiting to me. By limiting the total number of stars instead, there would be a lot more variety of decks that we could create, depending on the npc and the rules at play. And also it is easy to incrementally up the player's power level every 30 cards (or whatever) that we collect like last time, just add 1 more star to the limit each time.

17 star cap is a good idea, i'd probably still limit it to 1 Five Star max though.

I already know this will get shot down in flames, and I will be hounded out the forums forever, but anyway... how about if your deck had to include one card of every tier?

I know this would probably make everyone's deck "worse", but might allow for a bit more creativity and strategy if everyone was using at least one 1* card. I guess I just find it a bit dull that everyone I play seems to be using the exact same cards (which are also the same ones as me). The only element of surprise is guessing what 5* card they have

could be interesting to plan when to use your sh*t cards as opposed to just playing all-powerful cards all the time
