I am pretty new to PVP , but I keep with the group and help out (smoosh crystals if that is the thing, etc ) , I am not too great at it, but at least I am trying

I agree they do not do a great job informing anyone of the PVP only skills, I made a separate bar for PVP, but I would be willing to bet a lot of new PVP people have no idea it is there.

So other new people, chin up, we'll get better !

Just gotta remember lots of people are new to MMO PvP in general for most it's a chaotic mess and they have no idea what's even going on. They have yet to grow their PvP legs but give it some time. I'm just grateful I can queue for frontlines again. lol

I've only just got into pvp since the event, and it is a whole different ball game to pve. not just the pvp-only moves, but also moves that are more or less useless in pve become mvp

freeze, bliz2, surecast, and the chasing-after-people-hammering-scathe...

Another thing I've recently observed while in the feast. People ignoring those who have tons of medals with multiple vuln debuffs on them...the debuffs are there for a reason, it means- "please attack me! I picked up way too many medals and deserve to get destroyed!" Also, I see many not picking up the buffs you get from the initial crates. Pleeeeease don't walk past them, it's a free buff :3 Preferably let the melee dps or blm grab the attack buff (Or maybe even the war if there aren't any melee), while the healers grab the defense buff.

This problem extends to PvE content as well. The "training" via job quests is fairly poor for the most part.

It would be really nice if there was a rather extensive forced-tutorial specific to every class. Focusing on things such as a tank's role, and how to adequately hold hate - or abilities such as Heavy Thrust and Dancing Edge etc that give you buffs that so many people seem to simply gloss over.

It would be quite a lot of work but I do believe the level of training for PvE and PvP content should be seriously improved.

The way this could be done with PvP is in order to unlock each game mode (Shatter, Secure etc), a player must complete a PvE version of the game mode.
For example - to unlock Shatter, you would have to capture your objective, then when a crystal spawns - try and do more damage to the crystal than the NPC that attacks it.
Regarding PvP skills, you should have to fight against an NPC who will do things such as continuously sleep you (with no building resistance) and in order to pass you would have to Purify.

This game does a rather poor job of teaching people about their roles and classes in PvE, as well as PvP as a whole..

I had a Scholar in Shatter once who just ran all over the place getting herself killed, never moved with the group and stayed quiet the whole time.

PvP would be nice to have its own little section in Hall of the Novice or something of the like. Could go a long way, in my opinion, even if PvP isn't the main focus of the game.

They do need to inform more clearly about PVP skills, I didn't know they existed for months.

I poured a bunch of suggestions into the PVP section of the forum, but one of them was a "Hall of the Hungry Wolf" - like a Novice Hall but for PVP - so you could learn to use your different abilities.
