No this isn't another thread complaining about the new people, this is observations I have taken in since 3.5 launched.
So, with the garo armor being put in for pvp, it was a great idea...but not implemented well. Sure it gave people the incentive to actually come and try pvp, and I know the devs intentions were good to try to bring it back to life. Problem is, there are quite a few players who have no idea that there are actually pvp skills to help them out in battle, that and they have no idea how to properly engage or follow the objective.
Then there's the active help for pvp rewards- I would like to put a request out to the devs to rename it the pvp profile and have it better outline the use of the pvp actions for it and how they affect the gameplay in pvp, rather than the brief explanation we have on what the AP is used for. The way I see it, we're making players who are new to pvp hit the ground running, and if they trip up, then they get blamed for it. Fixing the information we have could help those who are genuinely interested playing it.
There is another problem I'd like to address with this as well. In the feast I've been seeing some players barely do anything at all to help out their team. And I'm not talking about the new players who have absolutely no idea what they're doing- I'm talking about seeing some healers cast literally two spells the entire match and then run around, letting their teammates die. Or a melee or ranged dps who does the same thing and not back up their team or healers but instead allow themselves to die. While this is speculation, I believe players are purposely throwing the match in an attempt to farm wolf marks for the pvp armor.
Think about it this way: losing a match nets the team 250 while winning nets 500. I've been in matches where we didn't even last 2 whole minutes, so say if that continued in that trend, said losing player who threw would have as many wolf marks as a winning team who played a full length match. In the end it would be a faster way for them to gather the marks. While pvp in its entirety is now unbalanced with all of these new players, I don't think it's unreasonable to think people are throwing the matches either. Admittedly I have no proof to back up my claim, nor do I have any idea to combat this issue if it really is that bad. So I'd like to ask the mods and devs here to look into that potential issue as well and see if they can come up with a solution to resolve this.
Anyway, there's my two cents. Take what you will from it. As a long time pvp player, I'd just like to have both new and old players alike get more enjoyment out of it~
