I'd visit the hamlets more often if they weren't such a pain to travel to. I wish there was a direct travel method like airships that just took you there.

I can only speak for the hamlet near Treespeak, but there is a platform out there that looks suspiciously like an airship dock just sitting there in the middle of nowhere. These platforms have been there since the beginning of the game, and perhaps if given a good enough incentive to spend time at these hamlets, maybe they'd consider creating new airship routes.
