I've returned! First I find pants, then Louisoix dies for sending me to the void.

tbh, It kind of bothered me that we can get better supplies and provisions from a camp in the middle of nowhere than from a hamlet that actually looks like developed civilization. Especially when they have names like the Gold/Silver Bazaar. (Doesn't a Bazaar imply merchants?)

With that in mind, I would think a hamlet should have npc shops, or in the very least, the ability to call a retainer there, and set up a bazaar.

I was so stoked in open beta when I first wandered into the Golden Bazaar coming down from Gridania. That feeling kind of dissipated when I realized there was nothing there but NPCs. The holiday event that had you delivering presents there in exchange for gear was cool, though. They have started to make better use of the hamlets, yet the shops still remain closed. I wouldn't think opening them would take too much work, but I understand that the dev team have other priorities.
