The importance of communication and role Specific Chat commands

I want to start out with a thank you to for finally responding to us in the PVP forums it has been so long. Hopefully this means there will finally be communication between the English Community team and the PVP community again...

That being said this post is mainly designed to give feedback to the English Community in regards to more commands in The Feast in the event the chat ban is not lifted(Although it is very clear a lot of players wish it to be lifted).

I am going to split this section into three parts:

• Diamond, Platnium, and Gold Tier Macros
• Chat Commands that should be added
• Ways to help Silver, Bronze and Unranked Players

Diamond, Platnium, and Gold Tier Macros
Communication is the key to victory, and in Diamond->Gold Games players that want to be the best know that through teamwork and communication they can succeed.

Information through these chat macros ensured the players understood their surroundings better and understood their role collectively as a team.

Tiramisu of Primal created a google doc where the PVP community could post macros that they used before the chat ban was put into motion, below is just a taste of the kind of complex communication that players used from this doc (please note there are way more macros and commands based on your job/role):

Chat Commands that should be added
I believe that there are lot of chat commands that need to be added, the chat commands we have are basically General PVP chat commands however they are not very well designed for specific roles, such as Tanks or Healers which require a much different style of PVP than a DPS.

The Commands we have now are:

Hello

Thank You
Nice Job

Purify Not Ready/ Purify Ready

Adrenaline Rush Not Ready/ Adrenaline Rush Ready

Collecting Offensive Supplies
Collecting Defensive Supplies
Collecting Adrenaline Supplies

Attacking Tank
Attacking Healer
Attacking Melee
Attacking Ranged DPS

Stopping Tank
Stopping Healer
Stopping Melee
Stopping Melee DPS

Collecting Medals
Get The Medals

Everyone Attack
Fall Back

Commands such as Attacking Tank, Attacking Melee, are useless for a healer to use and should be:
"Attack The Tank"
"Attack The Healer"
"Attack The Melee"
"Attack The Ranged DPS"
Basically communicating to the party that the focus should be the tank,healer,melee, or ranged DPS. "Attacking" instead of "Attack" is confusing since healers don't attack (we "Stopping")

An example of some more commands
"Come close to me"
"Your out of my Range of Healing"

For Tanks commands such as
"Full Swing Used on X"
"Sole Survivor Used on X"
"Living Dead Used"
"Holmgang used"

Other than this there should be commands to warn our teamates that they "Should Not Pick up Medals"
So something like
"<Melee DPS Name> Do not get medals"
"<Tank Name> Do not get medals"
"<Healer Name> Do Not get meadals"
"<Ranged DPS Name> Do Not get medals"

of course there are ways to say this already by hitting the "Stopping <Role>" "Get The Medals" commands given but it is very broken english.
( Stopping Tank, Get the Medals or Stopping Tank, Collecting Medals to try and explain to the tank to not get anymore medals)



Ways to help Silver, Bronze and Unranked Players
The PVP meta is vastly different than the PVE style of play. When thrown into the wolves new players must quickly adapt with very little information or get mauled by the pack. Information on how to PVP, and how the feast works is not clearly explained in the game. The only Active Help that new players get is this:



On the lodestone there is a very large webpage which explains how the feast works which NEEDS to be explained in the game in the active help or through other means (Hall of Novice for PVPers?)

The source of why there was such a "Toxic" atmosphere in the feast could probably stem from lack of information on the gamemode itself. For example Tanks not knowing what Medal drops look like, or knowing that if they take too much they gain Vulnerability Stacks (Heavy Medal).



In Conclusion
The purpose of this thread is not to debate if the chat ban should be removed or if it should stay, but basically Feedback to Squarenix to share insight on how much high end communication is used, give ideas on what chat commands need to be added, and to expain that Role Specific Commands are much more important than the general pvp commands which were given.

Please share your thoughts below, and maybe add a few more commands which you think should be added.

Um,.. I do not know what to say, lets pretend this is not a thread showing why the chat should be restored because there is not enough buttons on 10 bars to fit all this (lets assume you have no abilities at all, 120 preset commands is not enough). You are also leaving out:

divine breath used
do not use PvE raise
<t> needs to change job to Warrior

In Conclusion
There is not enough button room to fill full this change, we do not want it, we do not want threads even hinting it is a good idea, it does not work, no amount of buttons can teach new players how to move around.
