Mount Random Animations

Do you think mounts should have random animations when inactive? Like the horse mounts shaking it's head a bit when snorting or a couel stretching? In my opinion, because some mounts just standing there looks rather boring and dull, and not all mounts have to have animations since some don't have limbs or are just machines.

I agree. Giving mounts an idle animation would help make the afk'ers seem less lifeless. Hell, why not give us players some idling animations, be it stretches, yawns, looking around, etc.

You know, I wouldn't mind this in a way. Have a small list of idle animations we do when left sitting for a few mins. Granted it wouldn't really do any good for the player but be an interesting touch.

There's just too many mounts to realistically give them all ones. And implementing such things may cost us something elsewhere such as not getting new emotes etc.

I'm sure Im not alone in saying that if it was a choice between idle animations for mounts and new emotes for our actual characters is no bueno.

True, but a lot of mounts are just copypasta versions of each other, so they can easily just recycle them.

I would rather see more mounts get special actions you can do while riding them, like the magitek armor's beam.

Am I completely nuts, or didn't the behemoth mount used to let you summon a tiny comet? Was this ever a thing? I was so sure this was real, but I guess not..?

Only since CT1 and not as a mount

Wasn't the Goobbue able to sneeze from the beginning?

Not the 1.0 Gobbue. It came ingame with the sylph beastquests.

You're imagining things. I had the behemoth mount since it went live and it never had that ability. Heck, none of the mounts ever had any actions until the Magitek mounts got them I think.

I feel like such a crazy person right now, because I have this memory of thinking it was a cute/funny thing for it to have. Maybe I'm misremembering something from another game? Could be when you summon Beast in Kingdom Hearts, and he does a meteor attack. I dunno. Regardless, I think it would be cool if FFXIV did this.
