PvP in this game is pretty cool

I normally don't create threads here, but I just wanted to share how I feel about PvP in this game.

PvP isn't so bad. I would shy away from it when it was first implemented and I just stuck with anything PvE. Since this Garo PvP event has taken place it shed a different light on PvP for me. The feast is my favorite out of all the modes. Specially the 4v4 matches.
(The battle music is totally badass in the feast) Frontlines is fun at times but with so much going on and players calling out locations and different strats it can get pretty intense when the flow of battle changes in an instance. (I see a lot of ego's butt heads when things go bad)

So far I'm liking PvP. I might play it more seriously for the feast. I just wanted to share my thoughts with the community. Well played SE. You've created a PvP monster within me : )

I actually really enjoy PvP in this game as well. I'm absolute garbage, but my team never calls me out on anything personally so it gives me drive to get better!

I'm glad someone is having fun with it.
Myself? I haven't seen so much toxicity since I tried pvp in my last game, and it just reinforced my opinion of it in any game I play.
Some examples of what I've seen:
"If you don't know what to do, do us a favour and neck yourself."
"I'm sick of all these noob c**** like xxxx and xxxx they are just wasting oxygen."
"Cant wait for Garo to be over to be rid of hopeless twats."

Keep in mind this is only a fraction and more importantly the more milder stuff ive seen over the last couple of weeks.

I didn't particularly enjoy Feast without chat. I held a 2/3rd win rate for all of my matches just because I partied with a friend in VOIP and we rolled most of the extremely uncoordinated opposition. Frontlines has a lot more going on on the surface, but overall I think the mode is a lot easier for new PVPers to get into so long as there are some veteran players keeping tabs on the match and directing it. A lot of the mode is handling objectives rather than confronting players directly (which is kind of weird/bad for a PVP mode, but at least it's accessible), so players who are new can still contribute without feeling like they're just bait for the enemy teams.

Didn't see any alliance chat bickering to the level described by the poster above, tbh. I think they're on a different data center than me, though.

Got any advice for someone wanting to try it? I've never done PVP in this game before.

I had over 30 wins without chat at feast as mostly AST and I feel free to do anything I want without fear of someone might dissing me from behind. This feature totally great for me.
Also for frontline I love to become freelancer but I don't like how premade can dominate 2 GCs.

Queue Frontlines first. Large-scale battleground where your primary objective will be to move to ice spawns and do more damage on the ice in order to score points for your team. Actual PVP will occur between GCs jockeying for advantageous ice areas (there are three large ice spawns that award huge points if you can get there first), or between GCs just kinda derping around at mid in between spawns. Always be aware of where your healers are, because as a melee you'll get focused pretty hard and likely die unless you're really good at using your defensives/escapes or unless an alliance/party healer is nearby. Your LB bar is not shared among your party, and hits very hard as melee, so if you can, use it on big ice spawns or on little ice spawns where your team is falling behind and won't get good points on it otherwise. It can also be a killing blow on pretty much anyone below half HP, though you'll want to be careful about using it - it animation locks you for 2 or 3 seconds after it's cast.

Open your PVP actions menu and also observe what your abilities and traits do. A lot of them are very good in PVP (Recuperate, Ill Wind on a pile of casters/healers), and also learn what moves will be good in PVP that see very little use in PVE (Hyoton for example, as well as Doton at choke points).

Most of it will take practice, as well as observing the movement of your veteran teammates and enemies.
