Lore is a bad reason to restrict things. You could never add anything to the game if you followed the logic that it already has to be commonplace before you can add it.

That's not really true. New lore can be developed. Au Ra by and large had no reason to come to Eorzea. People thought they were voidsent or dragon related, and were chased out. Now that Doma has been raised to the ground, they've got no choice to sprout up.

Hybrids wouldn't make sense CURRENTLY, but that isn't to say if we go to new lands that racial restrictions there weren't so heavily enforced. Of course that being said Ala Mhigo is definitely not that land.

It took me 60 seconds to look up someone with a lore book who posted that old Ala Mhigo had a racial make up of

Highlander Hyur: 60 %, Hellsguard Roegadyn: 10%, Midlander Hyur: 10%, Seeker of the Sun Miqote: 10%, Other: 10%

That combined with the fact that Ala Mhigans could potentially have mixed with other races due to the massive influx of refugees that initially took up shelter in or near Ul'dah and you have what is essentially a very large mix of races that are not separated by class or rank. Not to mention that they probably wouldn't have every hybrid race come from Ala Mhigo, as the Hyur/Elezen combo has already shown to originate from Ishgard.
