The issue i have is that i feel that it is a bad thing to have to pay more than normal, to experience an expansions content on my main character. This game prides itself on having a One-in-all kind of gameplay, which is broken by adding races without at least one free change to the new freshness.
If the game was more alt friendly (a la WoW) i'd be fine with it. In those MMO's you are required to play more than one char if you want to experience the full show anyways with the alliance/horde split. In ffxiv there is no such noteworthy split aside from certain NPC's having minor changes in dialoge.
What if we are getting a secret new race and the new person representing the race is hidden behind a mask like Yuguri was? What if Unukalhai is of a new race?
*cough*Khloe*cough*
While I'm not interested in making a hybrid and do agree they seem rare in lore, it should be pointed out though that the miqo'te population according to lore is rather small which doesn't stop the endless keeper/seeker wave of players.Hybrid race options don't really make sense lore wise. Hybrids aren't impossible obviously (although some combinations probably are) but they are extremely rare, rare to the point that we've only met one after traveling all over Eorzea.
A thousand hybrids suddenly appearing in Limsa would be silly.
