Do level 50 dungeons need re-purpoosed and do we need fixes to the commence thing

Even with aether oils i still feel like they are a bit dead. It takes ages to get the queue filled and then when it pops you always have to re-commence like 5 times before people are all in and ready to go. Which brings me to another thing, is it okay that people leave/afk so often when it pops. I feel like people should have to re-commense that many times. Like we need some sort of "commit to duty" button or something and then if people seriously need to leave for irl stuff or something then let us into the duty still and let us progress while waiting on the few people to fill those spots.

Please don't take this as a rant im just wondering what others think on if the system is okay as it is or if improvements couldn't hurt.

I have not had an issue with either queues or players leaving once the instance has begun. After 3.5 hit, the queues were understandably a bit longer, but they are back to normal-ish now, which for me as healer averages 5-10 minutes. If one of the FC tanks comes along, they are nearly instant.

Now of course, I am not going to object to re-purpose these dungeons to make them more relevant, but there is a lot of reasons to come to these dungeons if you run content outside of ex/raid. They provide really good exp if you are leveling from 50-60; they are needed to unlock 50 roulette, which will provide a daily boost; rare mats can be obtained here, including desynth items and torn copies for orchestrion scrolls; some are just seriously fun to run like Brayflox HM, Sastasha HM, Halatali HM (feels like an advanced HoN). I also use them to warm up for more difficult content, and there is almost always a new player which provides a bonus.

When Stormblood hits, they could make these dungeons more relevant by making at least some of them a requirement before progressing into SB. Won't be an issue for anyone who has already completed them.

Unfortunately i dont get to play during the daytime. I literally have the worst net in the usa i cant play anything during the day the lag is so bad i cant even load the client page till after 11pm. then i can actually do a dungeon without lagging after midnight but the lag picks back up in the late morning right before people get on to play mostly. So i almost never get fast queues mostly because i can only actually do dungeons and things without massive lag in the dead hours of the night =S. I agree there are lots of reasons to run the 50 raids i just feel like even if its not in the dead of the night people still dont choose to run it as often as back when they were as relevant as machi raids are now days.

Last time when we asked about this, they added more exclusive items to them (crafting).
It was very bad and everyone expected speedruns, just in and out with loot.
It was totally wrong direction SE have choosen, better would have been to add the already existing loot for better items in later game!
Currently if you get something, you can throw it away! SE tryed to change that with (you guess right) MORE exclusive items from desynthesis... again totally wrong direction!
Not to mention the Relict Weapons -> oh my, AGAIN exclusive items... as if thats the only solution SE can come up with...

Had this thought that honestly came from how the new Hitman presented itself and it made me think how it would be cool if SE had the resources to provide weekly challenges that remain in the game forever, so in a sense there is always a way a player could challenge themselves.

By this I mean the current issue with the 4 man 2 dungeons isn't that Expert Roulette has 2 dungeons but rather they are just linear and predictable. Run it once and you always know what to expect through every encounter. What if there was a weekly patch that introduced slight variations/limitations to the content to challenge the player, maybe for increased tomestone gains, unique items, title, or just to gloat. Something to keep things fresh and reduce the sense of monotony that tends to occur upon doing the same content over and over again for weeks til the next big patch comes out.

One challenge could be "Reduced Max HP and KO's can't be revived." or "Constant DoT slowly eats away at your Max HP and keeping mobs alive to long will cause them to use abilities that do the same." or "Boss mechanics hit harder and act faster"

They could tweak in variables to the challenges and allow people to toggle it into the dungeon they are queuing for, to keep it fresh, to offer a way for people to challenge themselves using the same content but in creative ways.

I mean the most basic of tweaks would be the basic "min IL" which does currently exist in the game, so why not build on this concept and add other fun ways for players to push themselves. 24 man raids? Why not 16 man raids, no more LB 3 and instead you have 3 parties of 4 with nothing changed with the boss mechanics. So now you have to conquer everything with not only less DPS but also less healing. Or if they wanted to actually offer a "savage" challenge to the raid content with 24 people, tweak mechanics, get a little frisky and add some tank swapping mechanics. There is potential to create these challenges in the game where old content doesn't have to die or become a faceroll piece of memories, which is s a shame. Since a lot of those dungeons and old content do have fun encounters and mechanics to them but sadly they just become a joke when the max IL allowed pretty much allows the DPS to push in enough damage to bypass 90% of the mechanics.
