Since most people still cry out for the Feast Chat in 5 million Threads and totaly forget about the Good things in this Patch i thought i say Thank's for finaly hearing our Voices about the GC restriction. No more 3 hour Waiting Times. I hope it stays like that.

Btw. We have enough "bring back Feast Chat" threads now. Yes, Really.

Let me speak on this for a moment.

We're not entirely ungrateful or overlooking the good things. We've been wanting GC restrictions lifted for 3 years now and we got it. It's proving to be absolutely the great thing we knew it would be, and along with the cross server PF, it's great to be able to coordinate and team up with my friends I met on other servers, or even just party up and chat with old friends who moved besides. I personally have been enjoying the new features in /gpose. The 3 customizeable light sources is simply amazing to work with, and I recommend everyone give it a try. I'm finally even motivated to work on the relic, as I like this new design for the MCH relic (I didn't like any of the others).

Now, with that said, let me reiterate a few things that maybe got lost in the hubris. . .

GC Restriction Removal:
- They didn't do it because we wanted it for so long, at least not primarily
- They did it as a means to test the waters for future PvP content plans

One could argue that while it's a win/win for both sides, they technically didn't do it for us, or because we wanted it for so long. But let's not cast shadows over it and simply enjoy it as it is now. On the other hand though. . .

Feast Chat Removal/Quick Chat System:
- We didn't want it
- We specifically voiced our dislike of the idea as soon as it was brought up
- We pointed out potential problems it might cause
- We knew it would not cover the various situations that need to be communicated beyond basics in battle, and it barely manages those
- We explained that it would be a detriment to teaching newer players
- We mapped out possible alternatives to a blanket muting of players, such as using it as a light punishment for those who misuse the chat or harrass others

Even after all this, the change was made, and never with any attempt at acknowledgement from SE that they even heard us. The very problems we predicted this might cause are happening just as we knew they would, and we can do little to mitigate them. So yes, people are angry, and people are going the extra mile to be heard. Using the forums - as we've been directed to by SE on many an occasion - is a first step toward being heard. Where that fails, we would have to perhaps ignore/avoid/boycott the content as it is until they acknowledge us and consider repealing the change. And I personally will have no issue following through with that.

All in all, don't misunderstand us as being ungrateful or overlooking what good things they did in this patch. It's simply that the good does not outweigh the bad, especially when we tried to stop it from happening. Nobody likes being ignored. Nobody likes feeling ignored. But even with all the good things this patch brought, it was hardly a band-aid for what we have and continue to be dealing with. I am glad you took the time to remind others that this patch isn't all doom and gloom for PvPers, but we will not let this matter be so easily swept away.

UPDATE: We have just received an official response from a Community Rep regarding the Feast chat restriction, and it's rather disappointing. It seems out of touch with the real issue, contradictory to itself, and only intent on trying to improve a system we almost-unanimously dislike. This in itself certainly detracts from all the good, and that too is only more disappointing.
