I doubt all EU servers are full. And even if, new server would be cheaper than a new datacentre that don't fill up.

If you combine the population of Zodiark and Lich, the most "empty" servers on EU, you will get a server slightly more populated than Balmung.
I'm not saying we need more servers, but if the 2 lowest are already at mid capacity imagine the rest.

Yeah, I'd be more in favor of AU/NZ getting a data center before anyone else.if anything I'd say EU could do with another datacentre, or Australia/NZ (though Aus/NZ do technically have 3 datacentres to choose from, but I understand they're mostly Japanese servers. Not sure how you'd fix that. I guess they could start a branch of the mostly AUS servers and pipe them into a new datacentre offering affected players free transfers back to the JP datacentres). Europe only has one datacentre, and that datacentre has the least amount of servers out of any datacentre period. So it's a tie between EU and AU/NZ that needs a new datacentre IMO.
Players in that part of the world are at a distinct disadvantage. But the drawback would be the relatively smaller size of the local player population (I mean relative to NA, JPN or EU), so you might see 1 or two servers, not quite a data center. For cross server DF/PF you'd need to pair with one of the existing data centers. So any content with players from beyond your server(s) you'd still have lag issues.
The simplest solution for us AU/NZ/Oceania players has always been for SE to create a dedicated official english server on one of the JP data centres. They would just need to give us free transfers to said server so we can all gather together.Players in that part of the world are at a distinct disadvantage. But SE for some reason they just never seem to care about our region and they never show any interest in growing the user base from here.

600-800 from CA?
maybe just change your ISP.
When I was in Singapore, I got 200ms playing on NA data center.
There's a yuge corporate building in los angelos that says Square Enix. Why can't they be moved there?
600-800 of ping!!!???
I seriously doubt is SE's fault, i mean i'm playing from Chile, like literally thousands of kilometers further away than you and i have 180-190 ms of ping.

I'm playing from Europe on a NA server and I have 100-110 ping, I love Canada hosted servers <3.
