How the hell did you take more than a year to cap one class. Ive capped almost all of them in a matter of 3 months. You should have every single 50 by now. If you take that long to level dont expect to do any end game content.Greetings to all. I make my first post today, a sad day it is.
A brief bioMy partner and I have been playing XIV since beta! Yup, from the beginning we have grown as the game has, casting, slashing, crafting, enjoying ourselves by and large. Slow and steady we have played together whenever we can, pushing thru the UI lag, waiting on patches, loving the look of the game immensely.
We capped our primary class last night, very excitedI capped my Thamaturge and my partner his Archer, ready for the Primal... right? The biggest meanest boss in the game. Ahem! The only true boss (mega-boss?) in the game (atm).
*sigh*, Faz.

The MMO Attitude, ladies and gentlemen. Take notes; If you're less epic than this, you're not welcome here.
"Online gamers are the most ludicrously entitled beings since Caligula made his horse a senator, and at least the horse never said anything stupid."
I know there are communities that don't work like this, and I know there are groups of nice people and you should "find your niche" and all that - but the ratio is way too small.
Between these types of attitudes and the stigmas created by the arbitrary "challenge enhancements" (I.E. There may be options, but all but the easiest one are gimp/forbidden) -- I've decided to focus on other areas of my life, instead. I love XIV with a passion, but unless something changes in game design to balance this kind of thing, I'm pretty much done here.

Considering he took it from a cracked.com article, I don't think he'll mind.
Article for reference.

... Wow. o.O I thought I saw the last of these elitist attitudes when I quit World of Warcraft.
You're so pro, I bet you just ooze epicness. </sarcasm>
OP, don't let anyone give you crap for being one of the people who actually took your time and enjoyed playing the game with a static partner. My husband and I do that in all the MMOs we play, and it's a very rewarding experience. If anything, it's a testament to learning the game and your class, since you obviously didn't PL like a noob.
I feel your pain in your class not being the proverbial flavor the month. I was an endgame raider in WoW, and had to sit out on some ICC runs because I was a Holy Priest, which had become the red headed stepchild of healers (everyone wanted Discipline Priests or Holy Paladins, not that the latter ever seems to change). Don't take it personally (though I know it's hard not to). The fault really lies with SE, who needs to balance the classes. As others have stated, 1.20 will be a gamechanger in regards to class changes. Have a bit of patience, and hopefully we'll see some positive revisions.
