Yeah, I think it's just more of a mistake on their part with Parry stat on the Alex DRK Surfboard sword. Considering they are re-working parry in 4.0, won't be much of an issue next time. Yet, you have practically perfect Alex weapons like the Cane, knives, and Axe.

If only the raid weapon was like a +10 ilvl difference instead of +5 from the tome or anima weapon, the secondaries being not-optimal would be moot compared to the weapon damage gain.

Believe it or not, most raiders don't even do the relic stuff. If you are always working towards completing end-game raids early-on or top of the server in-clears you'll likely always have the highest ilvl weapon each tier within 1-2 months.
