Thread: the "relic" and "anima" and whatever 4.0 version of it should not be powerful

Yoship mentioned in one of his recent interviews after JP fanfest they are changing the relic quest in 4.0. I for one don't put a lot of stock in that, because he had previously made a comment they don't want to gate a relic behind "hard" fights again like in ARR. Which a lot of people actually liked.

Really should put a little more stock into people playing their job for their weapon beyond mindless leveling dungeons or light grind. Even if they added something like paying your relic job through the easier raids like tower series and Alexander Normal that would be a boost to those queues which are already in a pretty bad situation.

Going to have to disagree. I have friends that have done savage and had multiple 275 weapons for far longer than I have had my 270. Also would like to point out that a lot of the steps (pre-nerf) took far longer to do than it takes for a good group to learn and get most savage steps down, so you have your gear far longer than most will have anything equivalent anyway.... The Umbrite and Unidentifiable items say hi. Time investment of any kind should pay off.

If they don't change the forumula in 4.0, and nerfed the payout for the amount of time put into the steps, I would definitely have 0 reason to play the game anymore, and quit.

Making gil and amassing a fortune is easy in this game, and was one of my goals, and I hit 200m which was my goal LONG ago. So outside of the same content being repeated over and over, there is nothing else for me (That I enjoy) to do in this game other than relic. I enjoy having goals in MMO's. I'm sure others do too.

Now excuse me while I go pay 30m to obtain my A12S clear and mount that will take me only 10 minutes to obtain, and a month to make back. /s

I feel more accomplished with the relic weapon than I would with the Alex Savage weapon (though I haven't even touched Alex savage because I'm more on the casual side) because of the time I spent putting into it. I really think it's as simple as that. I built my anima to my liking and spent time on it, and it's pretty powerful. That's all I need to see it as worthwhile.

Still trying to figure out how a weapon someone can purchase from people selling clears is somehow "more showcasing of your ability" than a relic you put countless hours into. Oh well.

I also think its funny the person complaining has their achievements hidden. Oh well \o/
