    PC Patcher Download Errors [30413][25008][20495]

Hi, I've tried installing and downloading through Steam several times over the past couple of days and I keep getting 'Unable to download patch files' [30413][25008][20495] at more or less the same spot. I download it fine off steam, then it patches about half way and does this. I was able to get the game installed on another PC a few days ago without any issue, but this keeps happening. This is under Windows 10.

I will secondly report this problem. I'm installing it on another computer via Steam because I can't simply do it with the downloader that Final Fantasy offers on their website; both crash at a file stating the same error message.

    This is for the PC.

The first file is 2014.05.29.0000.0000 - This one gets stuck at the 525 meg spot
The second file, on Steam, is 2014.06.25.0000.0000 - this one gets stuck at the 625 meg spot.

What is concerning is that if I ever have to deal with a situation where I have to reinstall it on a PC at home, I won't be able to. This is further compounded by the fact that I have two copies at home and we both use the copy on a daily basis.

This isn't a new problem, either. This has been outstanding in a lot of situations where no answers were forthcoming.

One was given to use a VPN; this doesn't work. It was attempted.
Another was to try the steam version which is what I did. It skips out the first file due to the installation process where the Steam installer is at, but now a secondary file (the one listed), gives the same problem.

This isn't a connection issue from the PC; We are literally pinging the server over in Montreal to get the files. There is something on S-E's datacenters or ports blocking certain files. Either a file is corrupted and is shoving the message back to not be able to get the file, or the connection said file is being refused.

I need to insist: This is NOT a client side issue. This is server side. We aren't uploading anything but a direct connection to a repository in order to get the files. As such, the transfer of information on our end is nothing. The download point to get the file in question is what isn't working.

The idea that a copy from another computer to ours is also unacceptable as an answer. The downloader should do what it does: Download the patch files and install it to our PC. If it doesn't do that, it is flawed.

Having supported Square-Enix for over 25 years, I would like to think that I could get some sort of definitive answer or incoming fix. I urge any CM or any Dev that looks at this thread to try and resolve this issue, as you are risking a huge problem for new players, come Stormblood, not to be able to install the game. I already know one other person who's given up on the game and returning because, simply put, this error has not been resolved.

Worse is that it isn't for everyone that this is happening. It only happens to certain individuals. Some connector point that gets to the repository is being blocked or corrupted or something. It makes no sense.

Please look into this. It would be be useful if the problem was resolved before the launch date. Something's up. But some threads that were moved to the 'resolved' portion of the forums aren't, as indicated by the above poster, now myself and another that have the same issue.

    Thanks.

it is a very simply solution. pull up the command prompt and type ipconfig/renew . then start the game, log in, and it should start downloading

That's not a solution whatsoever as some of us are set with static IPs and it impacts more than one person.

When a VPN connection which grants you a different IP doesn't work, there's a problem.

So no, not as simple as you would want to believe.
