It just replaced everything you said with something else.
"idiot" was replaced by "friend", "motherfucker" by "good boy who listens to his parents" and stuff like that xD
Ans sometimes it was completely random, like when you got "strawberry" in the middle of a word just because it contained "ass" or something.

It'll never be as bad as Phantasy Star Online, so be thankful.

You couldn't say Saturday, because it contained the word "turd."

I can vouch for this, especially for Phantasy Star Universe...

- "isn't it?" because it would censor "tit"
- "put a" because "puta" means "bitch" in Spanish
- "fuck" but you could say other forms of it (such as "fucking")
- some other random things were censored too: "Osama bin Laden", "pork", etc.
- no option to turn off chat filtering

...and on top of all that, people abused the hell out of the comic book bubble and face cut-in style chat. If multiple people spammed the same thing, it'd make the bubble bigger and bigger, along with any other annoying visual and audio effects from "shouting" the message. I'd walk into a lobby whenever an event was going on, and everyone would be spamming nonsense to the point that it looked like my game was infected with pop-ups or something. I'd literally have to blacklist everyone in the room to stop it... Sonic Team did such a horrible job on that game, along with about every other game they made from around 2006 to 2010, lol. -_-X
