Free Company Alliances

I’ve been playing the game for about a year and a half now and become part of a large Free Company, one that became so popular that we had to create other Free Companies to accommodate everyone who wanted to join.

One of the biggest problem that I’ve seen between Free Companies that want to work together is communication. Each Free Company is seperate and I imagine the devs probably didn’t expect multiple free companies to work together like what we have, but in such instances there’s not much choice and we have no tools to effectively communicate with each other.

We’ve tried many things, including linkshells and using Discord, but no solution has been a perfect fit for my Free Company and the ones we want to work with.

I would like the devs to reconsider the promise they made back in 2.x where we can create Free Company Alliances. It doesn’t have to be something super big, just the ability to work together regardless of company and a chat so we could all communicate.

I know how big some mmo guilds can get, but i dont see why creating a linkshell with only the oficials of the actual FC as a whole wont solve your problem.


EDIT= mind you, im not against creating such alliance sistem

I agree. My interest was peaked when they briefly talked about free companies forming alliances with each other and a free company achievement system. I would most certainly welcome this addition.

I think it's safe to assume the devs have a huge laundry list by now. lol

Makes me wonder what's primarily holding them back on adding and enhancing FC features. They are busy with lots of stuff at the moment for sure, but eh maybe we can hope they are planning to beef it up in 4.0.

As much as I would love for that to be the case, our linkshell turned into two, then three, then four, then five really fast. I do other things as well and don't have enough space for all the linkshells that the free companies chat in, we can't even fit everyone into the linkshells, and for all we know, the amount of people that would like to join could just increase over time. The only way I see as a possible solution is to ask Square to add the Free Company Alliance chat and the functions that they'd advertised in the past.

Edit: We've chosen to make linkshells for Free Company members to interact cause we feel it's more about them, not us communicating.

The only way I see them doing it is if the community really pushes for it. This is just one of the things that I'm hoping they'll do in patch 3.55 or 4.0
