[dev1031]New High Level Notorious Monsters Please

    Continued release of NMs
From the latest letter of the producer. (and the outlines before that... and before that.. and before that...)

Well the "continued release of NMs" in 1.18 and 1.19 were unfortunately contained within other content (Dzamael, Ifrit, the Strongholds). I think this was kind of cheating personally by double counting your additions in different areas. "Oh look we made Strongholds AND NM bosses within those strongholds."

Maybe only being a couple weeks out it is too late to pull a Great Buffalo on us before 1.20, but what about sneaking one in for a holiday 1.20a surprise?

The addition of a few new (high level) Notorious Monsters with a few, or even just a single drop each; I think would go a long way to giving those players at endgame, and those not more to aim for and keep them logging in.

As long as it's in open world, I welcome it and even if they focus on unique NM encounters for awhile.

While it is pretty obvious this is referring to open world NM's because instance bosses are well... instance bosses. I certainly wouldn't be against them adding a new instance either.

Why would you be so anti-content? How about you just not play?

I just think a world NM would be much easier and practical for them to add before the end of the year. Or at least before 1.21's instanced raids that most in endgame are looking forward to much more than doing the dark moogle fight for 2 months.

Honestly a NM in a dungeon I do not even consider "a High level NM" that is a boss mob. Even current mobs I question if you can call then NMs due to their incredibly short spawn times.

Settlement boss NM was ok I guess. Sorta a boss mob there as well.

I want to see more random spawn High Level NMs, give me reason to go into X part of the world. So many void places that NMS could fill up. Make special conditions, make spawn items drop occasionally form random mobs. Bring use to 80% of the game's areas that no one ever goes to.

dodore does not have a short spawn time, it has a short respawn time if you kill it fast enough but the window is not very long.

If you claim him before the mist goes away the time to re fight him can be less than 45 mins.

Edit: also if they make all open world nm's drops trash no reason to add them.

It's almost why I wish they'd bring Voidwatch to XIV in a way, while I dislike pulling em from another dimensions (it fits with XI though) it could be a simple spawn system where you progress through ranks for the big boys (high level ones) that drop the gear and stuff you're after.

However since the maps are becoming smaller/segmented like how it was in XI (based on concept/renderings shown), it's more likely something like this will be realized, since in the current size of maps, it's almost pointless to dump an NM in some obscure location you'll almost never go to simply because it's barren of anything really.

Like in FFXI some areas were designed just to house NMs being in a nice spot, like in I believe it was Bhaflau Thickets that had a tower that only served as a battleground for a Mamool Ja ZNM fight, same with Sarameya fight on the lone island and so on. That would be nice to see if they do it that way with open-world Spawns, it does give a reason to explore more because you never know what you'll see as well as seeing other groups attempt to take something down since it just makes the world much more livelier.
