How did it all go with booking for Cafe? and how was Japan?! i'm really excited to go next month

Not yet. (^_^ ) Staying at a Ryokan in Koyasan (Mount Koya) and heading back home the day after tomorrow. Japan is a beautiful country and ofcourse I've made more then enough pictures to show for it. Including the Eorzea Cafe!

I went there at night without a reservation, the people at the door told me to come back the next day for the lunch schedule (11am). Got there at 10:30 and was seated immediately.

My friend who used to work in Akihabara says that dinner schedule is usually full, as is weekends. But weekday lunch schedule is most often open for walk-ins.

Alrighty, i'm back from my trip to Japan! (^_^ )/ As promised, here's a brief description of our trip to the Eorzea Cafe in Akihabara (pictures were taken with a smartphone without using a Flash, so i'm sorry if they are a bit blurry):

As mentioned earlier in this thread, i would be staying in Tokyo for a couple of days and wanted to make sure that i would be able to get tickets for the Eorzea Cafe. In order to do so, i've used the govoyagin.com website and reserved 3 tickets for the Cafe. Since they are basically a middle man who will get the tickets for you, they will charge for their service.

When we finally arrived at our hotel in Tokyo, govoyagin.com had delivered the tickets to the hotel. After that, the only thing we needed to do, was to make sure that we arrived at the Eorzea Cafe before the appointed hour. The Cafe is located on the 2nd floor of the Pasela building (which is only a 5 min walk from the Akihabara Station).

On the 2nd floor of the Pasela building, you will see a counter and entrances to multiple themed cafe's. Here an employee wearing a Retainer outfit will check your tickets and ask you to take a seat.



You will be given a Tablet with which you will be placing your orders and an instruction in english on how to place an order (since the actual software on the Tablet will only be available in Japanese). But, don't worry! They also have a menu with in English as well!






After handing you the tablet, they will also ask you to select a coaster you'd like to have as a gift. Once you're in the cafe itself, you will get a random coaster with each order you place.



The cafe itself looks really nice, but they have limited space. Like Kamui_Argent said, it is possible to get a seat without a reservation, but since we wanted to go to the Cafe during the weekend, it was a good idea to make a reservation in advance. There were a few computers and consoles in the center of the cafe, were customers could play FFXIV for about 30 min.

They also had a very nice detail when it comes to the bottles of juice and alcohol, which they use for making their signature cocktails. On each bottle, a label was used with a drawing from one of the seasonal events we had in the game. Even events which occurred in 1.0.




When it comes to the cocktails themselves, they had both Alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. The meals they served were also very nice and aesthetically very pleasing. (^_^ )

I took 2 friends with me to Japan around the end of February, and we did go visit Cafe Eorzea as well. I was lucky enough to know someone who lives near Tokyo, so he made the reservations for me. It's only possible to make reservations for 1, 2 or 4, so since we were 3, I ended up making reservations for 4. On the day of the reservations, 1 friend wasn't feeling well, so we ended up going with just 2. What was nice is that we still got the 2 drinks and 2 coasters for the additional 2 reservations.

Staff spoke decent enough English, so even without having a friend make reservations, it would've been doable to go there and make reservations for some later date.

I really enjoyed it, but it's real easy to spend a lot there with the way their ordering system works. We ended up with some 25 coasters or something in the end, unfortunately no Shiva, which is really the only one I wanted. My friend has them all now.
