    Some interesting market data

I've been buying/selling on FFXIV since the beta days and there are some interesting trends I've noticed.

    1. For high-level weapons and armor, sales activity does not increase as the price drops past a certain point. Price drops greater than 40 or 50% regularly slow or even freeze purchasing. My guess is that some players are equating price with quality rather than learning to understand item attributes.

    2. The availability of large quantities of high-level weapons and armor tends to reduce the sales rate compared to low quantities. This is probably due to concern that low quantity items will be gone.

    3. The difference in price between the lowest item and the next does not affect sales of high-level weapons and armor (assuming both are priced within reason). Whether the lowest item is 1 gil lower or 25% lower, most buyers simply pick the lowest item on the list with no effect on sales rates.

    1) Never really thought about it. Perhaps the force behind this is demand after all. For fast-moving items this can occur as well, up to a point where people are just waiting for the lowest price and then just buy everything in one swoop. What do you mean by understanding item attributes?

    2) I just check history...

    3) Unfortunately, at least in my server, i hardly notice any quantity of high-level weapons and armors (<i220+) above 15 therefore almost all prices are visible to buyers. I agree that buying the lowest items has no effect in sales but as a seller its dangerous. There's the possibility that your price might be vastly outdated aka expensive and not to mention that even if your price is ok, having items in the bottom have the risk not to be sold at all.
