    Patch download error PS4 - [20512] [25008] [20495]

    I can't seem to get this issue resolved. Going to try PS4 VPN later tonight when I get home. Posting so SE knows I'm being effected by the issue. Seems like there's no real resolution and it'll be a matter of tinkering with it enough to get it to work. I hope I can.

    This has been an ongoing issue since last year. And still nothing has been done, really. No real solution. And when you try to email them, they give you a copy and paste reply. Which doesn't work for 99% of the people having this problem. My friend is currently having this problem, with the same patch numbers you are. I have scoured the internet, as has she. She has tried everything mentioned, but nothing works. I can understand if this was sporadic, but it's not. It's happening to a lot of people. And forcing long time players to unsub because they simply cant play the game.

    Before trying anything drastic. Change your DNS configuration on your PS4. Some have used google's others have used verizon's public DNS. The latter is what did it for me. It got past the kink and proceeded to download as intented (I later got another error which was fixed simply by switching to my default DNS).

    Found a wierd solution to that. I had to delete the game and DLC (heavensward) and reinstall the base game and run it's first time set up. after that I updated it to patch 2014.08.26.0000.0002 (that is where my problem with [20512][25008][20495] came up.) Closing the app, I then reinstalled the DLC (heavensward) and run the app again causing it to run the first time set up for the expansion itself. After I did that the game patched fully and ran normally.

    Sorry for my ignorance here, isn't that the same as doing it normally?

    Ran into this issue when I reinstalled the game. Tried everything and SE customer support is USELESS told me that I was shit out of luck. Finally took a day off from work and sat in front of my pc and downloaded the game and kept trying over and over until it was finally done.
    Now I'm having DX11 and DX9 issues, but thats for another thread. Good luck!!

    Simply put they do not care. There was other threads with possible solutions by players that was moved to the resolve portion...
    The way i got mine to finally work months ago (after about a month of frustration and generic response from them) was to Port Forward, set the PS4 to have a static ip address and lastly used a VPN

    Square Enix, You have to understand you have a lot of customers with this on going issue, I my self am having this issue on this ps4. Im installing it fresh on a brand new ps4, and Sadly im out of Luck, and fustrated with no results

    Honestly I'm starting to think its luck.

    Here are the things I've tried so far
    1. Uninstall, and Reinstall the game - Nothing
    2. Ran play station four and safe mode - Nothing
    3. Uninstall, and Reinstall again - issue still persist
    4. decided to finally try a VPN and used wired ether net connection from PC to my Ps4 and shared connection to bypass any p2p. NOTHING!
    5. change the Default DNS to Googles DNS - nothing.
    6. tried using a proxy Server. yep absolutely nothing
    7. took my playstation 4 to my girlfriends moms house for shit and giggles to use other isp to see if i had luck- Nothing.

    I'm not gonna Format the play-stations hardrive because I KNOW That's not the issue.


    UPDATE - FIXED...
    Jesus Ch... I changed the DNS to Verizons DNS and it fixed the ISSUE what the F...
    DNS is Primary and Secondary
    4.2.2.1
    4.2.2.2
    for PS4 users....

    I haven't had any problems lately so I rely hope I don't jinx myself here. But last yar I ran into these problems. I just kept trying over and over and over again. It took 2 weeks of me trying to re download everything over and over again ND like everyone else says, the support just wasn't helpful. Then one day it just magically went through. Same happened with my brother when he got the game. He just tried again and again and it eventually went through. Ik it is extremely frustrating but my best advise would to be to try other advice posted here and just keep trying. I am surprised they still haven't fixed this. I get scared whenever there's maintenance or a new patch...
