Doesn't matter what pops out of that Aether Egg, Omega will eat it, we won't fight it.
That egg being there will deter any Garleans from getting close to the Shroud, but Nero will steal Omega, vanquish whatever hatches out of it, and the Empire will welcome him back as a hero.
