Veteran Miner trophy not unlocking.

I'm not sure if I should be posting this in the bug report section, or even on this website, so if I need to report to Sony instead, please let me know. Anyway, I was mining ice shards in Coerthas for crafting purposes, and I noticed that by the end of my excursion, I had mined over 1,000 ice shards. I was relieved that I now had a surplus of shards, but I quickly noticed that the Veteran Miner trophy (for mining 1,000 mineral deposits) didn't show up. So, I have a few questions.

1.) Do shards count for the trophy? I checked a FAQ after the fact and it said they do.
2.) If they DO count, is there anything else you have to do to unlock it (i.e. a certain quest)?
3.) Should I have contacted Sony instead of SE?

A couple of things to note:
1.) I'm playing the PS4 version (not sure if it matters between PS3 and PS4).
2.) Normally, I wouldn't care too much about a trophy, but I mined for about two hours consecutively and didn't unlock something I feel I that I earned.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is the achievement condition? Keep in mind shards are a lv1 item and you may have over 1,000 of them without having hit nodes 1,000 times yet due to bonus amounts given at times. No need to contact Sony, it's just a case of working out what you still need to do to meet this requirement.

Its as the other person said. You get bonuses for mining shards and the bonus you receive doesn't count towards this total. For example, if you hit the node once and receive 3 shards, it only counts as 1/1000. The bonus 2 shards you received do not count. It sucks but that's the way it is :/
