    Auto-kick for AFK in Frontlines too strict?

    If you've done PVP, then you know a match starts out with a lot of standing around doing nothing before the barrier goes down and the match begins.

    As soon as I joined into the instance I put my controller down on my armrest and went browsing on my laptop, and as soon as "ENGAGE!" appeared on my screen the game kicked me for being inactive for 2 minutes (2 minutes of standing around BEFORE the match even starts, fun times), and I'm hit with a 30 minute DF penalty.

    Now I'm not against kicking people that are inactive, but can't the timer wait until the match starts? Feels like I got cheated just because I didn't want to spend 2 minutes jumping around in circles.

    You only need to move or perform an action once every two minutes. That's not a tall order and it prevents you from starting a match with a bunch of AFK players (whom with your suggestion would take an additional 1-2 minutes to remove). Just nudge your controller or keybind every once in a while before the match starts and you're fine, the timer doesn't need to be adjusted.

    Haha this happened to me back in 2015 when queues were long asF. As naiya says, all you gotta do is make sure the game knows you're alive by pressing anything and you'll be fine.

    The autokick feature is fine the way it is. Recently with the whole garo event, I've seen too many people afk but cheat the damn system by jumping and running around...

    Two minutes is very, very generous. They're also meant to be used for preparation - so why not piece together a plan or offer tips to your party/alliance members whilst you're waiting?

    Lol I've seen some people do this, at a certain point I think maybe they should add a performance reward penalty. Like if you have 0 stats all the way across, you get no reward and GMs will take reports on you more seriously (perhaps pvp specific temp bans - on third offence ban your account from PvP for the duration of the Garo event lol), you literally did nothing - and even if you were horrible at PvP you'd still do more than nothing.

    Perhaps reward bonus for good and extremely bad performance, like if you're the top X% for your team you get a bonus.

    For negatives it should be more generous but like if you make up less than 15% of the average stat your job contributes most to the match then you get like 50% reward instead of the full amount. So like if the average healing done for your team is 100, and all you did was 14 then you get 50% the reward. It would be extremely easy to get over 15% of the average contribution of your specific main stat, but would mean people who just bounce up and down in a corner and hit one guy would probably not get a good reward either. (I want to say 25% or even 50% of the average but I'm concerned that people who are new or trying to get better might get punished and that would suck ; however, you are nearly doing nothing if you were 15% of the average contribution).

    Is pvp the same as regular duties however? In those, you can't even kick someone for ~10min after the duty begins anyway. I understand not wanting a bunch of afk players but perhaps if nothing else..if prep-time is say..2minutes exactly, start the afk kick at 1minutes till or so, that way you wouldn't have to deal with getting out the afk's n people like OP (and my husband the other day), won't get kicked for not moving when they weren't really afk.

    The 2 minutes auto-kick is ok. It's the 2 minutes preparation time that is too long.

    Yeah, that has always bothered me and never made sense to me either (and yes, I recieved a penalty several times for getting kicked, which was even more frustrating before the event when frontline queues were horrible in general).

    I just don't understand why the kick timer doesn't start the moment the walls fall, NOT the moment you zone in. Because if the game ACTIVELY STOPS YOU FROM PLAYING for the first 2 minutes, it shouldn't penalize you for, you know, not actually playing during those 2 minutes of forced standing around >.>

    I think they need to shorten the start time form 2 min to 1 min to 1:30 seconds.

    On a bird outside. zone in. go AFK for 2 min waiting for gate to drop. Kicked.
    As a DPS nothing to do waiting for gate to go down. 2 min prep time is too long.
