Sure, they have fans, but it doesn't really compare as VA fandom in Japan is on a wholly different level. The highest profile ones have idol status akin to rock stars. But you're probably right about scheduling, as VA's in Japan are extremely busy doing a lot more than just voice acting.

And I listen to it in English and it's awesome (though there are some voices I don't like. They're not bad, I just don't like 'em).

Liam O'Brien is my favorite voice actor (next to crispen freeman). If he ever does Aymerics voice I may lose it....

But I'm sure it'll be different actors because of licenses correct?

I listen to the English one. I would love more voice acting only if it wasn't so expensive >.<"

Each rank has its own set pay. For example, “A” rank seiyuu are paid 45,000 yen (about $443) for one 30-minute anime episode. Above “A” Rank are “No Rank” seiyuu who can set their own price. For example, voice actress Kaneda Tomoko revealed that she gets paid approximately 30,000 yen (about $295) for one anime episode.

Usually, voice-over artists are paid per job. They can make anywhere from $20 to a couple hundred dollars for just an hour of work. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, though, radio and television announcers made an average salary of $40,510 in 2011 and actors made roughly $33.82 per hour.

Yda's English voice is amazing in my honest opinion... That alone is what draws me to it - though I do agree that some ENG voices are pretty average..

On topic though, I personally think that "enough" cut-scenes are voiced. All of the really meaningful ones are - and the ones that aren't often have reasonably bland dialogue aside from the odd witty remark..

I don't know about expensive, but FFXIV's voice acting is quite cringe worthy in its badness at times. There are definitely a few bright spots here and there, but most of the voice acting is pretty sub-par unfortunately. I'd rather they not increase the frequency of it if they don't also increase the quality of it.

And you know a way they can have the voice actor record every single possible name, including stuff like XxSephirothxX42069?

I think the guy that called for "racism" and so on, overreacted and did not taken account this is an international forum.

And, nailing to the topic, this is also an example of how difficult is making text for international purpose. You will found a number of hilarious (and not) names given by innocent companies to their products, but resulted in high embarassment when exported
