Meanwhile over here in the US Professional Voice Actors continue to get stepped on as people refuse to see the absolute value in their talent. :<That largely depends on what quality of VAs you're hiring and how many different languages you are recording in. In Japan voice actors are very high profile with massive fan followings and contracting them is very very expensive. SE then has to hire an entire cast for every localised region. They have much more to consider than Bioware does.

It's no different in the US. Unless you don't think VAs like Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, or Nolan North (all of whom have done work with swtor at one time or another) have fans. And it's also localized in several languages. What I believe to be the real issue is scheduling. This game gets a lot of praise from the fan base for its narrative, but with some of the rushed endings and plot points we've had, I don't think most of the script is written until fairly late in the process. It doesn't give a lot of time to schedule voice sessions.
Sure, they have fans, but it doesn't really compare as VA fandom in Japan is on a wholly different level. The highest profile ones have idol status akin to rock stars. But you're probably right about scheduling, as VA's in Japan are extremely busy doing a lot more than just voice acting. It's no different in the US. I always support more voice acting. I'll never deny them doing more of it for this game. Especially after the much improved Heavensward voice cast, I beckon more.
There is one major problem about "more Voice Acting" that I never see anyone talk about : your character's name. Each time your name or surname is going to appear in a scene they will not be able to add voice and I like seeing my name, I don't want to be known/introduced/talked about as "a friend" or "the Warrior of Light" for the rest of the game.
And you know a way they can have the voice actor record every single possible name, including stuff like XxSephirothxX42069?There is one major problem about "more Voice Acting" that I never see anyone talk about : your character's name. No, that's why the game will never be fully voiced (or why they don't want to go overboard with it too) because the more scenes with voices the less your character will be named and you will just end up being "our friend" or "the WoL". That was my point, I don't want more Voice Acting because I like seeing my name in cutscenes (which will not be possible if they are voiced).

I listen to the Japanese audio and their voices are awesome.
English is NOT my mother language, French is. Use my recruitment code MV9YGNXD before paying your sub and get cool items. http://sqex.to/Cz9

And I listen to it in English and it's awesome (though there are some voices I don't like. They're not bad, I just don't like 'em).
