Ps4 Black loading screen when launching game.

Just got through digital download on ps4. When I try to launch the game from my dashboard I see a close up still picture of a black helmet then the screen goes black. I can hear the background music from the launcher playing and can even move my cursor but the screen is black and the launcher never actually loads.

I've searched for 3 days trying to figure out whats wrong. I've reinstalled the game twice and still nothing.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey man, I had this issue on my PC 3 years back. I basically left it to get the game on PS4, last year only.
Problem is though, all these issues are starting become a pain in the behind and no answers are given.

As support goes, they will tell you it's the PS4 and you would need to give up your first born also belong to a specific group for about 15 years and also dont forget the most important part which they believe you have not yet done...RE-INSTALL the darn game.

Sux to be a PS4 owner with such issues and FU to those that says get a PC. Im still playing all my PC games no problems but NOOOOO FFXIV just doesnt seem to work...RE-INSTALL and yes I actually did re-install it on PC about 15 times, re-installed windows 5 times and also went from win 7, to win 8 to win 10. all they can say is, it's your hardware.

Sorry for the rant, it's frustrating when you keep buying subscriptions and halfway through it you not able to play it and they cannot help you. Wasted unplayed time which they benefit from. We suffer while other mosey on till they get the same issues.

So ultimately you need to get another PS4 man, the one you have, has a terrible ANTI-FFXIV sickness.
