Community Feedback: Removing PvP Chat was wrong.

Firstly, I understand why it was done. But this implementation shows it just doesn't work and in fact does more against the PVP community than anything for it.

Let us list why it doesn't work.

    1) Doesn't remove the BM (Bad Manners/Toxicity) in chat. Players can still spam "Good Job!" for a whole 8 minute match. Yes, I've sat through it multiple times.

    2) New players don't have a clue what they're supposed to do and nobody can tell them.

    3) There's no way to say specific things or use custom macros even. How do I tell my team I'm out of MP? How do I tell the players not to pick up 8 stacks and run into the enemy? How do I tell them who I'm going to fullswing? How about something as simple as bursting a target at a specific time (e.g. B4B activation)?

    4) This chat removal actually makes feeding etc easier. I've played a few matches already where players would run into the enemy base and /dance, while I'm watching the healers drain all their MP keeping him alive. He'll then afk at base while the whole team drop dead. There's no way to bring this to anyones attention.

That's only to highlight a few reasons. Also, why remove it in 4v4 Premade? What exactly does that accomplish? You're already playing with people you agreed to play with.

You know what I think? I think the reason this has been done is because they don't want to punish toxicity/wintraders in PvP. How many times have wintraders/feeders been reported? How many have actually had some sort of action on them? I think it was removed to "silence" the vocal PVP community who wanted players removed from the game for what they were doing.

Before you ask: I think they don't want to punish them just to keep them subbed. They want income. The team wants money and they don't want a vocal minority in the playerbase to become enough of a vocal majority, to force some action to be taken and remove a few subscriptions.

It's either that, or they want less work for the GM's... because the toxicity reason is invalid. It's still there, more than ever.

So where are the players who thought this was a good idea? You might enjoy it for the first 2 weeks, but when you're stuck at your skill level and can't progress, that's because there's nobody in your matches you can ask. When you come across one or two players in the enemy team that actually know how to press buttons, you won't understand what you're doing wrong. You'll become a burden to your team for the remaining 7 minutes.

Also, I'm looking for players who have actually done some Solo Queue Feast since the chat change. What is it actually like? I've got the mounts etc etc so I'm just waiting for Season 4 to roll around.

Feel free to leave your thoughts below. I hope they break their silence on this soon, I can see the JP playerbase is as frustrated as we are.

    inb4 se remove "nice job!"

There is a giant thread on this already. Why not post your thoughts there?

It might be easy to ignore one or two threads, but they can't ignore many.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Not a whine post, but a calm appeal that simply asked for answers, and reiterated important points. Mind you, this is after the other mega threads (in which I was rather vocal and raised many of the points that continue to be raised, including here). There was also the overlooked point of intentionally posting it in General Discussion to give it more exposure. That they took the time to move it means they read it, which means IF it's ignored beyond that, then it's intentional. We've made and remade all possible arguments since they announced it, and have gotten absolutely nothing from SE. If it's clear they don't care for our feedback, we need to make it clear we don't care for the change. The Garo event is keeping Feast activity up (especially at a time when many players are returning to a now-GC restriction-free Frontlines), but once players get their mounts, they will likely move to avoid the Feast because of said changes, and SE can't pat themselves on the back over increased Feast activity.

If there's one thing they notice, it's when content has a sudden, rapid drop off. Let's hope that applies to PvP content as well.

The previous thread was basically just a nonsensical whine with fancy language and brought up no valid points why we need chat.

This is a feedback thread, the threads posted before-hand were talking about the implications the system could possibly propose. You guys on the forums lol.

At least this one has a nice list of reasons why in the first post instead of a vague complaint.

Adding to this, it removes a lot of room for specialized skills such as Sleep, Holmgang, Vuln+ skills, and other important cooldowns that people often macro'd.

There is no opportunity to teach, or to learn. I learned a lot by asking questions in the briefing period, because that's what the briefing period at the start was for.

If I left myself open to feedback and responded, people were generally really nice about it--because I was showing effort in learning and trying to help my team.

People who go in there with an I Can Do No Wrong Don't Question Me attitude were the ones getting yelled at, and quite frankly brought it on themselves. If you go in there and act like a belligerent, uncooperative twat, you're going to get called out.

By showing you have an interest in helping and succeeding, your team was way friendlier, imagine that! Nicer team, and you get to learn!

If you keep running in and making the same mistakes, frustration is bound to happen--just like it does in Trials and Primals! How about we remove party chat next?

But no, they cry! You can't remove Party Chat from Raids, Pyrali! How else will people learn?

Same shit in PvP my dude. No difference.

Nothing worse than any other area of the game has ever happened in PvP. Steps of Faith? Final Steps of Faith, Chrysalis, all the EX Primals... I could go on forever about all of the nasty shit I have seen said in there. But I won't, because it really does not fucking matter at the end of the day.

Literally all of these points were already covered in the first thread.
