    3.5 Main Scenario Quest (Spoilers, duh!)

    With the introduction of 3.5 p1 , comes another batch of Main Scenario Quests..

    ;_;

    Foreshadowing Papalymo's death in 3.4 by handing him the Tupsimati for 'safe keeping' and his monologue speech in the beginning, I lowered my expectations of him coming out of Stormblood alive.
    I mean, his death was clever and all for mimicking it to Louisoix's fate.. but..

    BUT THIS SOON!?

    As someone who started playing FFXIV around 3.4, Ysayle's death was painful to deal with, and now THIS
    I just can't catch a breather omfg..

    At least the new Dungeon gave me a good roll on the new Bullpup minion...
    "here papalymo died so i'll just give you a good roll for once in your life"
    thanks i guess...

    HERE'S HOPING THAT PAPALYMO MIRACULOUSLY LIVES AND COMES BACK IN 3.55 \o/ ;_;

    please square enix

    I want to know what primal was trying to summon Illberd. It wasn' Bahamut, as he said something about "Even more terrible than the Dreadwyrm"

    My guess would be...
    He's trying to summon Rhalgr. It was the name on the lips of most of Ilberd's dead followers after all. He's the God of Destruction and is known as the 'breaker of worlds'. Sounds like he could be a big problem, especially with both of Nidhogg's eyes to juice him up.

    For the interested, there's not a great deal of difference...

    ...between the stay/flee options. You just get blasted onto the ship if you stay.

    And yeah, Rhalgr is the safe bet for the primal. Blood for the blood god! Can't wait until that thing bursts.

    Did anyone else burst out laughing when Ilberd smacked the ground anticlimactically? Man, that should've been the ending. Splat, pithy quip, /visor, end scene.

    Well, I don't know. Papalymo uses the ritual to imprison the primal, and that ritual uses the power of the twelve. It makes not much sense use the Rhalgr power to imprison... Rhalgr itself. I think we will never see the Twelve, as they are gods, but nor primals. And, it is supposed they watch over Eorzea. Maybe could be a primal manifestation fo Rhalgr, but not Rhalgr itself.

    Thanks for that - I have to admit I hesitated there, not knowing if it would change things - though I wonder if it will have affects further down?

    That monologue at the beginning of the MSQ is really all-too on-the-nose.

    I mean, I shouldn't be surprised after the "Reveal" regarding Urianger in 3.4, and how obvious that was made, but... still.

    You get some hints if you look at the fast pictures shown in 4.0 trailer from fan fest - set speed at 0,25 and pause it from time to time...
    He summoned Omega, it gets sealed and will break free with 4.0 as savage raid.
    Lore: Omega was created to be on eye level with Bahamut and to fight him if needed...

    Square Enix is trying to make Omega face a similar fate as Bahamut was...

    Works a bit differently than that, as far as we can tell.

    Strictly speaking, the ritual just uses an immense amount of aether, including all of the caster's own. It's considered to be powered by the power of the twelve by the general populace as that is who they prayed to the last time it was used, and it was those prayers that generated enough aether for it to almost work against Bahamut. As far as we know, the twelve aren't actually involved in the ritual

    Though there's little difference in the outcome, I'm glad the option was there - being able to at least try and stay even if we're forced to leave (much like Yda) felt appropriate.
