Suggestion: crafting log sorting and filtering options?

I might be alone in this due to how I view crafting (I'm not exactly a glamour enthusiast), but the crafting log could use some extra options for sorting and filtering recipes.

    1. Sorting/filtering by newest patched recipes: while perusing the patch notes can give us some idea of where to find new recipes, it can be a completely different animal when new recipes are added into the leveling sections of the log. On the sorting end, the default listing of recipes seems to make little sense as to what logic recipes follow, making it a bit difficult to find the new recipes in the right sections.

    2. Separation of "glamour" and "event" recipes from the leveling sections of the crafting log: One thing I remember from helping one of my friends get into crafting was when he encountered the Battered Fish recipe and I had to explain to him how the Haddock was only available during that event. Similarly, many "glamour" recipes that use hard-to-obtain or otherwise rare materials have been inserted into leveling sections, which could be confusing to newer players that are used to recipes that require more common materials. In addition it could make it easier to locate recipes of this nature if they were grouped together.

    3. Sort/filter by "complete" flag: I think the current situation with the new "I Made That" achievements, combined with the odd placement of new recipes every patch, makes this a tool that would be incredibly helpful for those seeking to obtain these achievements.

I would LOVE a filter by job, like filter to all the recipes that can be worn by black mages, or filter to just bards, or filter to just paladins, etc

There's a lot of things that would be classed as "Quality of Life" that could be applied to logs in this game. In the past there have been limitations introduced by supporting PS3 & also having servers that couldn't handle it. Come 4.x we might see some of these QoL changes being made. It won't happen immediately but as time progresses they'll have to be made to prevent major problems.

PS 3 Support as a Bottleneck

Having to support PS3 puts severe constraints on what they can do. The limits on what a controller can do vs. keyboard and mouse, memory constraints, graphics constraints, etc. all play into it.

For example, it makes addons like WoW has very difficult to do. I'd really like a way to download market prices and do analysis of them like I can for WoW or Eve Online, but there's no way that PS3 players could access such data and make use of it. (It might make markets more stable, which would help crafters, but it won't happen soon.)

Unless they sunset PS3 support, don't expect a lot of QoL improvements for crafters. At least they have promised more storage space.

Note: I understand the market forces that made PS3 support a smart move on their part and don't fault them for it.
