Question about outfits

An underwear only outfit is only required if you are a male Roegadyn. It's part of the race lore. :P

Seriously, almost everyone hates the subligars. The good news is that they are "Disciple of War" generic outfits. As a dragoon / lancer there are other sets you have access to. Look for armor that has the tank classes + DRG and LNC. They are usually called [X] Scale Mail. Like "Iron Scale Mail" and "Horn Scale Mail". There are also some nice dungeon drops like Kokoroon's Darkshell Mail.

in case you did not know, if you pick to level a crafter or gather to 50 first, they can take the glamor quest.
So that is a way of skipping the "he man phase"

Oh, and since that Brand New set you get for the Novice training was brought up, there's actually three such sets, one for Disciples of Magic, one for tanks, and one for damage dealer Disciples of War. If you're going to be playing multiple classes, you should repeat the tutorial with each role to collect the sets suitable for each.

If you haven't done so already, hit the Hall of Novice and complete all of the training scenarios there. Once done, you'll have a full set of gear that gives a bonus to XP (plus a ring that gives bonus XP up to level 30) and it looks damn cool. I kept that gear for quite a while.
