Garo event a COMPLETE success!

Before the next 20 posts of how its been anything but a success, my hats off to the devs fully on this one.

The ques are still at less than 5 min for 8 vs 8 and FL......and its nighttime. With chat disabled, no ones bitching, just lots of feelgood killing~ The cool mounts are easy enough to get, serving their attracting purpose nicely. To boot..some of us even get cool armors, while some get sexy male dresses *coughmnklol*

Done more 8 vs 8 in the last 2 days then pretty much combined before. The event accomplished its goal. Thanks devs!

Chat isn't disabled for Frontlines. That said, all groups I've run with have been pretty chill, aside from the usual "why are you idiots screwing around PVPing when there's PVE objectives up" remarks. (I also don't support the Feast chat ban, so you're unlikely to hear me call that addition a success.)

Queue times have definitely plummeted though, which is excellent. Was able to do something like 12 matches yesterday evening, thanks not just to the Garo event but also probably due to freelance queue finally being a thing. Hopefully we'll get some new PVPers added to the fold, even after this event is done, but the cynic in me finds it kind of unlikely. If there's no continual carrots, only the usual vets will probably stick around, chat ban or no.

If you see it as a short-term promotion, it definitely has succeeded quite nicely.

But considering we already had near instant queues for a while once, during Pre-Season...yeah. It'll die again. Color me surprised if it doesn't.

I can agree with the joy of having the shorter queue I have ever seen for PvP,
but even with just the GC requirement removal we would had an all way shorter queue but they waited till now to put all together and risk that it will "die" again in 2 week...

Btw, I'm happy about they are now caring about pvp BUT, the chat removal is a totally mess, they need to fix it.
I had a tank that do not know ANYTHING aout the feast and for 2 matches he didn't took any medal, for example.

The removal of Feast Chat is the worst thing the Devs have done to PvP. I say that even after they removed morale and materia (despite still selling both).

There is no way to teach, or learn. No way to communicate about abilities or use helpful macros.

It's a clown show, and more aggravating than anything.

Out of MP? Too bad you can't tell your team.

Just Holmganged a target and need help DPSing? Too bad you can't tell your team.

Out of cooldowns? Too bad you can't tell your team.

Is their DRG hiding in spawn with 10 stacks of medals? Too bad you can't tell your team.

30 seconds left and your lead is narrow? Too bad you can't tell your team to stall for time!
