There is also no way to read insults and swearing from noob teenager boys. Not that I cared about it personally, but many many people were turned off PvP because of this toxic behaviour. This event is a chance to get them back in a more friendly environment.

Except for the occassional hello and pullback....its...quiet. Have I seen tanks grabbing the def bonus at start and getting 10 stacks? Yes. Have melees pushed all the way back to other teams spawn and followed em home to their bedroom, getting killed because of it? Yes. Healers using good ol PvE raises for all? Yep. Are super-advanced strats now being discussed in full detail with the words "Attacking ranged dps!"? Si.
But whoaah~ ...still having fun. No ones spending 7 minutes telling someones mom to get throat cancer and yadda yadda horse yadda 2 donkies. Its refreshing.

And all of that done by a Silver tier player that is supposed to be aware of how medal works, how raise works in pvp and so on,... Have I seen tanks grabbing the def bonus at start and getting 10 stacks? Yes. but no, he doesn't know because after ton of match spam no one could tell him hot to act proprely in a ranked game.
I understand the frustration of being insulted costantly, for that I went out of Feast in season 1 and 2,
but actually I think this is as bad as the other option, they REALLY need to adjust it because coordination is too important in a serious 4vs4 match.

The event is much better than I was expecting. The items are priced reasonably and I feel like the mounts are very achievable even if your win rate isn't great.
It's hard to say if this will help the PVP community grow in the long term but at the very least it has gotten many players to try XIV's PVP that may have not otherwise.

I have no idea what to do. I don't care if there was swearing between every word if it taught me what to do. Toxicity wouldn't keep me out of PvP, PvP would keep me out of PvP. I just want to win - I want my timed horses.
What data center is Cerberus on? Cause I can safely say I never saw anything so bad on Aether, so your mileage may vary. Pyrali however makes the point of all points: Reducing/preventing harrassment is great and all, but not at the cost of gameplay and the ability for players to communicate and teach each other.
You don't solve a problem by creating a bigger one.
Also it should be noted that while Garo is keeping the Feast active (in light of the changes), the improved queue times are more about them finally lifting GC restrictions as per our 3 years of requesting it.

And then there're people still laughing that glamour is the true endgame - the event is the proof that it really is haha!
But the freelancer status surely helped at least for me being in Maelstrom, the queues were unbearable
It's definitely shortened queue times but it's also showing the difference between people that are more interested in PVP and folks that just want marks/light and don't care so much about win or lose. Hell I just got vote dismissed from declaring as such in a game before, not that I mind, it was going to be a very slow loss in seal rock, it let me get right back in to a different match that was more engaging.

Worst side of Garo event is I got newbie at frontline and they're brutally killed by 1 premade team... Good thing to make them trauma I guess?
But I really like this collaboration, frontline popped all time.

I'm just happy that I was able to hide my shield with one of the garo PvP items. The glamour stuff got me interested in PvP stuff again.
