There is also no way to read insults and swearing from noob teenager boys. Not that I cared about it personally, but many many people were turned off PvP because of this toxic behaviour. This event is a chance to get them back in a more friendly environment.

And then there're people still laughing that glamour is the true endgame - the event is the proof that it really is haha!
But the freelancer status surely helped at least for me being in Maelstrom, the queues were unbearable
It's definitely shortened queue times but it's also showing the difference between people that are more interested in PVP and folks that just want marks/light and don't care so much about win or lose. Hell I just got vote dismissed from declaring as such in a game before, not that I mind, it was going to be a very slow loss in seal rock, it let me get right back in to a different match that was more engaging.

Worst side of Garo event is I got newbie at frontline and they're brutally killed by 1 premade team... Good thing to make them trauma I guess?
But I really like this collaboration, frontline popped all time.

Except for the occassional hello and pullback....its...quiet. Have I seen tanks grabbing the def bonus at start and getting 10 stacks? Yes. Have melees pushed all the way back to other teams spawn and followed em home to their bedroom, getting killed because of it? Yes. Healers using good ol PvE raises for all? Yep. Are super-advanced strats now being discussed in full detail with the words "Attacking ranged dps!"? Si.
But whoaah~ ...still having fun. No ones spending 7 minutes telling someones mom to get throat cancer and yadda yadda horse yadda 2 donkies. Its refreshing.

I'm just happy that I was able to hide my shield with one of the garo PvP items. The glamour stuff got me interested in PvP stuff again.

I'm both aggravated by the loss of feast chat and support it. I know, strange. I'm aggravated because, of course, I can't communicate with my team when we need to communicate. Otherwise, it's great that I don't have to see all the abuse and rage that I'm sure was in the chat (and why SE just disabled it completely as a result). And so, we need a few more premade messages to get our point across. For example, a message like "focus targets" to tell your dps to attack one person (instead of everyone picking a different target and, as a result, killing no one). We also need messages asking for help from teammates. I'm sure there are others I'm not thinking of at the moment, but adding in additional messages is the way to go to let us at least somewhat formulate strategy while keeping the jerks at bay.

Agree with the additional messages. I can think of these right off the bat:
"We need 1 more medal to win."
"We need to let the timer run out, don't die, play defense."
"Marked target with huge amount of stacks/medals."
Here's to hoping that SE adds a few more helpful ones that compliment strategy.

I have no idea what to do. I don't care if there was swearing between every word if it taught me what to do. Toxicity wouldn't keep me out of PvP, PvP would keep me out of PvP. I just want to win - I want my timed horses.

Nothing in XIV has ever been said that's worse than your average Overwatch Comp match tbh. Y'all got bones of glass and paper skin if ti really bothers you that much.
It's really hard to take people who rage seriously, and if you do, the problem is with you tbh. I learned to find it funny when someone was reacting disproportionately to a minor screwup.
But completely muzzling everyone is riduculous.
No room for teaching, no room for learning, and no room for strat in a team based competitive game.
