    I'm not a technical genius so bear with me here, from what I understand, they downgraded the engine to allow the game to better run on lower quality machines to increase the amount of potential players. That's my basic understanding of it.

    They are dropping PS3 Support once 4.0 is released, so I really don't see how a few touch ups here and there wouldn't be technically possible.

    This is true. I highly doubt they'll go back and change the old clothing and armor sets but maybe better quality textures on the new armor sets and on some of the character models will be a thing.

    If they changed anything with the models they would have to remodel every. single. piece of gear for every. single. race. Better quality textures would for sure be awesome, but models are a bit iffy, especially the further in we get.
