3.5 Achiemevent Titles being way too spoilery?

One of the titles is... uh. Let's just say that in the first ten minutes of logging on I'm pretty sure I walked by someone who spoiled what is likely one of the biggest plot points of this patch, simply by having a title equipped.

This title apparently translates closer to "The Star Pupil" or something in JP; something that bears NOTHING like the spoileriffic bombshell that is this one.

I'm not happy with this at all. It's bad enough with players trying to manually spoil stuff in public chat channels; giving players a tool with which to actively spoil other players is just incredibly bad form.

EDIT: It appears that this will be hotfixed ASAP. If you see this thread however it is still highly advised to turn off titles for a day or two until it is confirmed fixed.

Looking forward to rushing home after work and disabling all titles in the entire interface for months so I can't enjoy them properly, just because my partner is taking some time out and I don't want to play through the remaining MSQ until she returns and we can do it together.

Suggestion: If this is going to keep happening with the English version, please have it so titles from the future of the MSQ don't appear to those who haven't received them yet. It's the only fair way. This issue already ruined one of the big moments from early HW for me :/

I might switch back to JP interface for 4.0 and stay that way.

The Japanese, French, and other titles for this questline are not spoilerrific at all, that's what's so flabbergasting. They're all general enough that it's okay. But the English team chose to rewrite the title completely.

It is unfortunate that people are logging in and getting immediately spoiled by people standing around before they even start the MSQ; this conversation is the bulk of what I'm hearing about the patch instead of all the awesome things that were added.

Even with titles off you still see that SPOILER when examining other players.

I have now seen it too. Putting two and two together isn't very hard. Third time I've been spoiled by the localisation team rather than actual players.

I have to agree that the title was a horrible mistake - especially if it is true that the other languages did not have a similar issue. Perhaps the English team thought they were making a cute play on the Bahamut Final Witness title, but for an MMO where one of it's main selling points is its story, the title was extremely short sighted. People are excited to find out the story for themselves - not have the biggest plot point spoiled for them by an achievement title.

It's all well and good that Koji Fox has promised a fix, but this is damaging enough that I'm frankly shocked the correction wasn't in place by the last hotfix.

EDIT: It now looks like the fix has been applied.
