pfft...No..www. The price of this thing does not equal to value in a collector's market. Only reason you're be paying more is because of all the extra non-software stuff that's included.

Is it reset Tuesday yet.
I question whether I'm playing a PvE game with PvP mixed in, or I am I playing a PfG.
Heavensward CE was about 130 bucks. It had:
- Heavensward disk.
- Heavensward Artbook.
- Eorzea in motion - A Realm Revisited. Bluray disk of cutscenes, YouTube videos, artworks and such.
- Dragon Mount figure. So called "Expertly Crafted".
- Griffin Mount digital content.
- Baron Helm digital content.
- Wind-up Kain digital content.
Stormblood CE is 200 bucks. It will have:
- Stormblood disk.
- Stormblood Artbook.
- Stormblood Sticker.
- Cloth map of Eorzea.
- Zenos yae Galvus figure. So called "Expertly Crafted".
- Syldra Mount digital content.
- Chicken Knife Red Mage weapon digital content.
- Wind-up Bartz digital content.
- A disk box that I have no idea what's in it. Another BluRay thingy? Whatever. Even if there's ARR+HW in it, it's a collector edition, so this is worth absolutly nothing for people who already have it.
I have absolutly no idea why there's this 70 bucks bump in prize compared to the Heavensward version. It just looks like pure greed as the two Collector's Editions are extremely similar in content.

Guess is the same reason why the fan fest stream was raised from $20 to $30 when nothing extra was added.

At least for 2014 that $20 got you everything. With 3 minions this time around they were really pushing for minion collectors to shell out $90.
And the NA Fanfest tickets went up from $120 to $135, which I'll give SE a hall pass on that one because the Paris was a larger venue than the Rio (doesn't necessarily mean it cost more but who really knows?). I just wish they'd tossed out some freebie T-shirts this time. 2014 had 2 free T-shirts that everyone could get, which I still wear regularly because I love them.
I guess the less oranges you have on your tree, the more juice you need to squeeze out of each one QQ

Wonder if they'll have differences between the different region's CE, iirc last time the quality of Japan's was slightly better even though the price point was similar if not slightly cheaper (guess it depends on what currency you're converting from).
CE looks nice but I'm pretty sure my wife would make me commit seppuku in the living room XD. Will probably go digital CE again hehe.
Maybe not a $70 difference but imo looks like the statue is better quality.

The Dragon mount figure was also "good looking" back in the days when they showed it on stream and on pictures, before players actually received their Collector's Edition.
Trusting them would be very naive.

Hmm well can't say about the dragon since I don't have it, but it didn't look like this: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/pr/blog/000950.html ? I'm sure they had good lighting but seems like a real screenshot. Edit, from their live stream: https://www.finalfantasy.net/wp-cont...agonstatue.png . Imo if all pictures are fair, then I think the new statue has a bit more detail and colors going on making it "better quality", but it's true I am not holding it lol.
At least if I was recalling the ARR CE correctly, people will want to make sure the picture of the CE they are looking at is specifically for their region, like on stream for ARR they showed off Japan's CE and then there were micro differences for the other region's which they did prepare photos for later but you had to read and be sure you were looking at "your" region's CE (basically I think it came down to Japan's was better packaged (better sleeves, box, and stuff), it's been a while though lol).

What I said was in context of the price asked for that figure.
Let's count again how much it costs:
Heavensward = 40. Artbook = 20. Eorzea in motion Blueray = 5. Digital content = 20.
That's 85 bucks in content. If I take 5 bucks back for the box itself, there's 40 bucks left just for the Dragon Figure.
40 bucks for a figure of this quality is on the edge of being a rip-off. For this price, the figure should've been in resin, and not plastic. But, it was still okay. Okay.
Regarding Stormblood, you can almost make the same calculation... which will leave you at ~100 bucks for the figure alone if you value a sticker and a cloth map quite high...
When you come to that pricing, you should expect something coming close to the Odin figure. Just note that the Odin figure is 290mm (11.42") tall while Zenos yae Galvus is 180mm(7.09"), so the 35 bucks in different is already justified. Odin's stand is also way better.
So, yeah, that Zenos yae Galvus figure must be of the best quality SE is able to sell. If it's not and the quality is near the Heavensward's one, then it's a complete rip-off.

Yeah the statue does seem to be better quality. the one from HW was terrible quality and didn't line up correctly with the stand.
