If the cause is overpopulation, a test server would not discover this issue, and they are usually not as populated. and its not just 1 server, but multiple causing the issue, assuming this is the cause.

You really think the cause is overpopulation? The population of this game has only gone one direction since the wait for 3.1.

It doesnt matter if overall subs are down if half the remaining population (exaggeration, but it gets my point across) moved to Balmung and Gilgamesh.
If 2 servers have combined what an entire datacenter should have for population, there is going to be issues.

Yes, but that mass exodus happened because of Gordias. Gilg and Balmung have been this overpopulated since 3.0. It's not new. The issue wouldn't just magically appear in 3.5. They messed up something up in the patch, dude.

They have been overpopulated, but the problem is that keeps rising. There may be issues with the patch, but if that was the case, EVERY datacenter would have issues. Aether's is generally because of Balmung and Greg not being sustainable.

All they need to do is add channels(add more servers to each world) and allow us to swap between each channel as one fills, while making housing areas and character data on a single server, per world of course, to see if it fixes the congestion. If it does not then they would at least not have to worry about people getting queued to join the game they paid to play.(unless maint or bugs happen)
Just No. Different instanced server copies no matter what you call them are just garbage period.

They can do this, we had it for about a month after Heavensward launched before they turned it off. Or at least each zone had multiple instances.
