Stormblood - something else I like to know about...

It has been such a while since I last played on FFXIV, but starting to get a bit of time on it with my au'ra alt (from the point of post 2.0 completion, towards 2.55 and HW).

However, with this new expansion coming soon, there's something I just need to know, especially for in game stuff...

New jobs - apart from the Red Mage, what other jobskills are there?
Diving/swimming - are these for the newest areas in particular?

...my main has WAR Lv56 and alt currently has SMN Lv51 as their highest levels.

They havent revealed any other jobs yet, but the EU fanfest is coming soon (i dont remember the date..) and that'll be when they reveal any other job(s) or other features we'll be getting.

Climbing/swimming - are these for the newest areas in particular?

They havent mentioned any Climbing, but yeah swimming will MOSTLY be for the new areas in storm blood. They have said you will be able to swim in a few of the 2.0 areas, such as Costa Del Sol, but it'll just be swimming on the surface. You'll only be able to dive under the water in the new 4.x areas.

We won't know job specific abilities until closer to Stormblood-- if they even realize anything beforehand. If you meant the second job. Most believe it Samurai now due to recent leaks, but we'll have confirmation come mid February. As for swimming, it will only be for Stormblood and selective areas (Costa was named I think).

What I meant was diving, not climbing, sorry. I take it diving is only for the newest areas.

Costa del Sol then? Sounds interesting.

They did note that some older locations would have the ability to swim. and I don't see why diving wouldn't be, I"m sure there are some spots people could dive from lol.

The only hint we have is a Spiderman shirt (Yoshi P always wears a comic book super hero shirt to hint at the new classes, like Scarlet Witch for Red Mage, or Batman for Dark Knight). As there are theoretically two positions left to fill for jobs, my personal guess is Blue Mage and Samurai, but we'll see.

The only hint we have is a Spiderman shirt (Yoshi P always wears a comic book super hero shirt to hint at the new classes, like Scarlet Witch for Red Mage, or Batman for Dark Knight). As there are theoretically two positions left to fill for jobs, my personal guess is Blue Mage and Samurai, but we'll see.

Likewise, Yoshi P stated the number of new jobs for Stormblood correlates to the Moonfire event from summer, from which I believe there were -3- characters. Ergo, 3 jobs. Not that there couldn't have been a change of plans between now and then mind you. Either way, in my opinion at least, Blue Mage makes the most sense for the Spiderman shirt, and Samurai is coming no matter what.

Could be that it is just trolling - that is why I said the evidence is more on Samurai as long as Yoshi is not trying to troll us. Of course I think the probability is high that he is indeed trolling us simply because it makes no sence to put the cutscence in that earlie but still...

The thing about the moonfire event was something I did not know, thanks for the info. I'm not sure about Blue mage to be honest, i think that will be really hard to do right in an mmo, my money would be on dancer with the highest probability and then bluemage with the second highest probability for a third job. Theorethically there is also Beast master but I think that one is less demanded by the fanbase and has the same (if not higher) problems as the Bluemage. Then there would be an 100% new class that never appeared before, wonder how that would be accepted by everyone seeing how adamant people are on their traditional classes.
