New MSQ title is way too spoilerly *spoiler warning*

I don't agree with the new msq title at all. It makes it completely obvious that Papalymo's fate was going to be up in the air. It's even worse if you've completed the coils, and you know what happened to Louisoix. The title for that is "Last Witness", which the new title is referencing. As a result, I would like to ask the game developers to change the title "Papamylo's Final Witness", to "Finest Pupil", due to it being the name of the title in other countries. I just don't understand why the title was thought to be a good thing. For example, when Haurchefaunt died, at least the title "The Silver Filler" was a nod to him, but not completely obvious. What makes the spoiler title even worse, is the fact that Papamylo has been with us since the very beginning of 2.0. It's even more awful for players who started in Gridania. Please help us devs! In my opinion, this is entirely unfair.

I'm just glad someone made a thread yesterday to disable the ability to see titles because of the spoilers, so that's the first thing I did when I logged in.

I'd be livid right now if not for that warning. I agree that the tile should probably be changed to something less spoilery.

I'm glad I did it as soon as it was live. I would be fuming with rage if I had seen that player title. Even now I refuse to wear it. I also fear people wearing it might get kicked from parties. Can you imagine someone wearing it in Balsars Wall? It's just asking for trolls to abuse it.

As this is something we will be correcting, I will be locking this thread in the hopes that we can minimize the number of people that are impacted. As Koji mentioned, we would appreciate everyone's continued participation in helping ensure your fellow adventurers avoid this by not using the title in question.

This is why I think Koji Fox should just translate some stuff literally. I appreciate that he apologized for it but this is one instance where his praised "tasty flavor" backfired because he just had to make it different. I'm not going to pretend I know what was going on when his team translated that line but it's a pretty big mistake.

I play with the Japanese client and had to take my title off because it was spoiling it for English speaking players, what I was reading wasn't what everyone else was.

I'm not really upset at Koji Fox for this though. I'm upset at the players who saw the kind of damage a spoilery title could do and decided to display them anyway. Especially those who wore them in the dungeon where you get the title.

It'd be really nice if English speaking players were a little more respectful and removed their titles until this gets fixed but I'll have to disagree about not being upset with Koji, he was the one that felt the need to change a perfectly fine title into something that spoils the main scenario for players, issue could have been avoided if he thought that maybe this is the one instance where he should be a bit more literal.

I'm happy he owned up to it but I'm wondering where the quality control is?

That's pretty interesting. I wonder how many people using the title were in other languages and just unaware. Now some people knew what they were doing. Standing at plot important areas with the title equipped.
