Why did "Answers" play at the end? Wasn't that the theme that revolved around the calamity with Bahamut? Is this gonna be like, mecha Bahamut, or something.

I think it had its ties to Louisoix. With Papalymo being his finest pupil who would use the same sealing magic that Louis used on Bahamut at his end.
It was a mirrored event, and the song choice was one that I felt was perfectly fitting for what was happening in that moment.

That distant version of answers was what played for overworld music when dalamud was at its nearest, right before the servers went down. I think it was to recall those times and to show that there much be something comparable to bahamut trapped up in that ball. Albeit with less aether and minus the extreme amount of rage do to captivity that bahamut had.
"Answers" has nothing to do with the calamity. Heck, it was even in the city intros at launch of 1.0
1.0 Ul'dah Intro (the song starts at about 0:18 and another section starts at about 7:20)
Ilberd had orchestrated everything to mimic the events of the Calamity. Garleans and 'Alliance' troops fighting on the ground. Doomsday primal in the sky. A would-be saviour drawing on the power of the Twelve to imprison the monster. It makes perfect sense that they used the same track for the scene.
I wouldn't say there was less aether involved. That distant version of answers was what played for overworld music when dalamud was at its nearest, right before the servers went down. Ilberd was quite clear he was summoning something even more powerful than Bahamut. Nidhogg's eyes are a nigh limitless source of aether so the necessary fuel to summon something that monstrous was definitely there. The various forms of summoning we've seen throughout the game have also made fairly clear that sacrifice increases the strength of the resulting primal (the original three ex primals were summoned via sacrifice) and Ilberd committed suicide to complete the ritual. All of the components involved in this summoning combine to form what is undoubtedly the most potent summoning ritual we've ever seen in the game.
One of the dying Ala Mhigans even cried out to Rhalgr which makes it pretty obvious who they summoned as well.
Well it still had a lot to do with the calamity, since the whole story in 1.0 is about guiding the moon/meteor to earth."Answers" has nothing to do with the calamity. Heck, it was even in the city intros at launch of 1.0

I wouldn't mind to see Bahamut again in a later story or new raid <3
The fact it wasn't IN the game at that time says nothing about Tanaka's plans which we never saw so it's very possible that the story was headed there from the outset and so the idea that "Answers" is indeed the 'theme' for the Calamity and all that surrounds it is valid.
