I think we all did, Fiona... and actually for good reasons, I'd say at last.

But guys, wanna know a good thing that came out of this thread? At least at made ME realise how lucky I am that I found a bunch of awesome friends through this game - like, made me really sit down, appriciate it for a minute and then go and tell/hug them. So, if you're in the lucky position to do the same, I suggest you do and take something positive out of this mess!

I tried my best - anxiety and depressions arent to be taken lightly, neither are any sorts of personal relationships. I still wish the OP all the best on his search for friendship - I havent read the articles (or the essay he promised because well, we never got one) but I have experienced the benefits of close friendship and thats a lot better, I guess. I hope everyone of you did and does too - so go and tell your friends how happy you are to have them in your life!

Just saw a little of it, but it was worth it due to the laughs it provided.

Let me sum it up for ya.

Our protagonist wander the land sof eorzea alone, and he knows in the deepths of his RPing soul theres something lacking on his life. A bangable buddy, of course..our virtual avatars must have one! How coule anyone notice the empness that are our lives withoud one?!. Soo he with passion on his eyes venture to the dark forums in search of his beloved, but alas, his quest was not soo easy...Cat ladies everywhere, and everyone only wants to bang those..Our hero might be a cat, yes, but he is not a lady cat. And thus his strugle goes on.

But people MUST be interested in virtual love! he cant be the only one! 'Its the game's fault i say!' our hero claims as he start a new thread..A thread to bring all bang buddies of eorzea togheter! and soo he sets out on a new quest, one to create the legendary GCB, the Grand Company of Banging.
But as he creates the new thread, new hardships come with it...No one wanted a matchmaking sistem in an mmo! How dare them! our hero cant be wrong, his legendary pink hair is proof of his convictions!
Then unkown plot twist happens, our hero discovers the magic of friendship and becomes the first worldwide 'friendship doctor', some random lady overcomes anxiety and everyone sets out in a rainbow while the thread slowly goes into the oblivion all old threads go when no one acess them anymore.

I'm still gathering information and possibly creating a proposal as promised.

I'm still debating with myself if I should continue it on this thread or make a new one and chain link it.


I also had a lovely chat with Square Enix support team and the Task force in dealing with anymore Derailing and harassment. Going forward, I advise every future contributors (Both good & bad) to this discussion to watch what they talk about. It's fine for everyone to have opinions, however I value a discussion of equity. And while I can understand my ideas and values can spark up the Fire in everyone's heart. It is no excuse to act above or disregard forum Guidelines.

I just wan't to make this crystal clear the only fight I'm looking for, is a good argument that goes against my views. Not listen to Nefarious comment's that helps certain people sleep at night. I value the opinions of coherent speakers. Not the opinionated. I can tolerate an attitude or a smart mouth, but if you decide to talk about something unrelated to the discussion. You made yourself look VERY bad in this thread - jumping from one suggestion to another one, changing your mind several times, nitpicking on single words/phrases (you should keep in mind that not everyone is a native speaker here!), focussing on how people attacked you in their posts instead of engaging in a debate...
So while you might be still debating with yourself my advice would be to let this thread die in peace and ONLY make a new proposal once you've found a way to make that in a way that doesnt makes SE responsible for once personal happiness and how to find a friend/lover/partner. Talking about the benefits of friendship and quoting studies about that is somehow derailing itself.

I will repeat myself again - and I will repeat myself in the same manner should you decide to make a new thread regarding this topic: Those personal affairs are non of SEs business and how you propsed them until now they seem harmful and dangerous (I explained why already). SE is running a GAME not a dating service or a self-help-group.

So if you want to continue this: Open a new thread, take the feedback you got here into consideartion when you make your new proposal and if you're clever you dont link to this thread since its not in your favour.
I promise you: if you continue here most people will read the first few pages (and who could judge them for not reading everything?) and you'll be busy with filling out reports and nothing else...
