    Ah yes of course.

SE likes their formula. I don't see them deviating from it. If they do? Awesome. I'll be the first to shout their praises. But one of my policies is to always maintain low standards, that way you're either always right or pleasantly surprised. Oh and if I do happen to be right, I'll be bumping this thread to say that I called it. >_>

Man..feel like im the only one here who sincerely enjoyed the hell out of Heavensward and the portions of it released through this last year and a half. Honestly, I actually expect Stormblood to be smaller while building off the story more. The races have all pretty much been established as well as peoples favorite jobs (just my opinion of course) so not as high a need to keep adding off that. At this point, I don't have any preset expectations for Stormblood at all...it simply goes where it'll go and me is just along for the journey, come what may. Not trying to sound like a fanboy but Yoshi and co. seem to genuinely care about their product up to this point so I say give em some breathing room.

Don't mistake my intentions. I love FFXIV and I really enjoyed HW, the side stories, the characters, and (most of) the content. Just yesterday it occurred to me that I was actually sad seeing all these various storylines and plots wrap up as I realized I'd not see a lot of these characters ever again. I'm very critical of SE but that's because I actually care about the game as a whole and while their formula works, that doesn't mean it couldn't be improved upon.

If I want to nitpick a little, I'd say that the burden is not the same when you design three new jobs while releasing an additionnal job than when you just do three new jobs.

But, hey, we'll see in February.
You have to also consider they still haven't figured out how to balance those jobs. Astro went from borderline worthless (3.0), to underplayed (3.1 onward) to competing with Warrior for OP status (3.4). It took them three patch cycles to finally get Machinist settled. None of this factors how the other jobs are influenced. White Mage basically has no purpose and the continual buffs to Machinist forced attention onto Bard, wherein both pushed Black Mage and Summoner out. Meanwhile, Dark Knight has been kicking Paladin since 3.0 and Monk struggles to find a place in the meta. I'd rather they focus on adjusting the current jobs instead of adding new jobs to further complicate things.

    That's totally different topic
Can they add three new jobs ? I'm fairly confident they can.
Should they add three new jobs ? Well...for DPS, I think they were able to maintain pretty much any setup equally viable, since you always have a lot of DPS in a party. For tanks and healers, as long as we have more jobs that available spots in a party, some of them will always be kicked away.

    I enjoyed Heavensward.

Everything from the zones to the music to the story were all very well done in my opinion. The new jobs had balancing issues, won't deny that, but you can't deny they became fairly popular. People had wanted a gun-wielding job for ages, Dark Knight was hyped up well, and Astrologian brings together the best of WHM/SCH gameplay with Yu-Gi-Oh thrown in.

I'm not worried too much about Stormblood. They're dropping PS3 support, so we may see about as much content as Heavensward gave us, but also an influx of new Quality of Life changes, such as the expanded inventory space. It's those (and Red Mage) that I'll be looking forward to in Stormblood. If they don't arrive immediately, I'll wait for the patches. If Red Mage is broken and virtually unplayable at first, I'll wait for them to fix it, and work on it in small, non-infuriating increments. Farm gear for it on Black Mage.
